Blue & White is an old Pure Oil station with a daily buffet of Southern style vegetables and entrees.Always includes dessert. Food and atmosphere are old time South, and wait staff unfailingly welcoming. A simple salad bar as well as ordering from the menu available. Great place to escape the chains when on the road in Mississippi.

This restaurant lives up to the reputation of being a diner style restaurant with home cooking. I've found on my trips that it's best to stick with the lunch buffet and not the menu items. The buffet doesn't fail to be delicious.

Today's pro's that rank a 5:
Chicken & dumplings, smothered pork chops, black eyed peas, mashed potatoes, green beans, fried green tomatoes, sour kraut, and yams.

The chicken & dumplings have a great from scratch flavor with lot of pulled chicken. To me the dumplings are a bit small, but they're delicious. My lunch partner said the pork chops were really good. I enjoyed the black eyed peas and yams. The mashed potatoes are definitely homemade. The fried green tomatoes, if you get to them soon after being put on the buffet, are crunchy with the nice tang of a green tomato.

The only item we did not care for was the saulsberry steak. We both thought the patty seemed to be a bought, pre-made patty, and it seemed out of place on this otherwise delicious buffet. To their credit, the brown gravy was good and pretty generous with onions.

The lunch buffet is $10 Monday-Saturday and $11 on Sundays. It includes dessert (brought to you by the waitress) and a drink. Dessert can run out, so if she tells you something you like, ask her to go ahead and bring it to you.

The wait staff are generally super nice.

It's worth the money, good food and a good service experience. The restaurant is favorite of locals, so it will probably be busy. But they'll take care of you quickly.

This little restaurant has all of the Southern Home Cooking going on. Excellent place to eat, especially their fried chicken. We eat here 3 times during a 5 day stay in Tunica. The food is so delicious and the service is great too. We have no complaints.

If you find the locals at a restaurant then you know you have found a great place to eat. We not only found the locals but the Tunica police department also seems to like this neat little bit of history ( it was an old Pure Oil station at one time, hence the name Blue and White). Food was super good (had blackened catfish, hush puppies, turnip greens) and large portioned. Recommend highly if you are in the area.
