This place is great to go with your spouse, friends, or family. It has ample seating which is great for large gatherings. They bring out delicious coleslaw, onions, & cornbread with your meal. They bring the cornbread out in a little skillet and flip it in the air for your entertainment before serving it to you (it's more exciting than it sounds). :) I've had everything on their menu. This location only has two options, chicken strips or catfish and each meal runs you about $12. Most people come here for the catfish. The chicken strips are ok though. Both meals are served with fries and a couple of hushpuppies. I always get a "pot-o-greens" which is around $2.95 for the smaller pot and $3.75 for the larger pot. Their onion rings are good and fried pickles are great for starters. You can also get a mixed plate of rings and fried pickles. The sweet tea is SWEET and very, very good! I love the rustic plates and cups they use. Your silverware and plenty of napkins are in a container on the table for ease. I've been to this location several times over the years and the food and service have been superb each visit. A few neat items to look at in the waiting area along with a huge map of what Jackson looked like many, many years ago (I believe around the 50's). The bathrooms are rustic and worth checking out, sort of an outhouse style but within the building (and pretty clean). There's usually ducks around that you can feed a few leftover fries, etc. Just don't feed them on the areas the restaurant has marked as no feed zones. They are open for both lunch and supper. It has a very laid back atmosphere. Enjoy!

Great down home cooked food. The catfish was as good as I've gotten anywhere. Everything was awesome, and can't wait to go back soon!

This place hasn't changed. I ate here many years ago. The food was great then and it is still great. My friends and I had the catfish. It was perfectly fried. No greasy taste at all. It was seasoned just right, and melted in our mouths. Nothing like Mississippi pond raised catfish. The hushpuppies, fried pickles, and onions were just right. Man, was the coleslaw was delicious. Be sure to try the greens and cornbread. Tastes just like grandma prepared it. I had an ice cold Michelob Ultra. My friends had iced tea. They said it was very good. My only disappointment was the fries. They were a little bland. Ask to sit in Brittany's section. She was very courteous, friendly, and attentive. She suggested that we order dinner for two, rather than 3, because it would be more than enough. She was abolutely right. And there still was food left over. I highly recommend this place if you like catfish. Oh, it is located on the fabulous Ross Barnett Reservoir. You get a great view of the water. However, it can get really dark there. So drive carefully and watch out for alligators (just kidding).
