“What an oasis”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

We had such a delightful time at Isabella. We were on our bikes on the Natchez Trace coming from Jackson and got caught in a storm. Bobbie and Phil were so good to us. Let us use the dryer, made us a wonderful dinner it was Easter Sunday, no other guests, we slept well had a great breakfast, Bobbie made us sandwitches to go for the bike trip to Natchez. It was so nice that we stopped in for a wonderful lunch on our return trip. Thanks so much for everything. Tell Brenda the chicken salad was fantastic!

We were two couples bicycling the lower quarter of the Natchez Trace and stayed here going south and again going back north. Bobbye and Phil couldn't have been more accommodating – they attended to our every need and then some, even helping with transportation to retrieve our vehicle when one of us needed to get off the bike. The B&B was most comfortable. Spacious rooms, great bathrooms, and delicious meals. Southern hospitality at its finest!

Room Tip: Any room in this B&B will be satisfactory

My wife and I had lunch there with a group of 14 that stayed at the Dunleith Plantation in Natchez. The couple that own, operate and restored Isabella B&B are absolutely delightful. We all had soup and salad for a lunch and the food was excellent. The story telling of the history and reconstruction of this facility was well worth the trip. The building itself is gorgeous. My wife and I are planning another trip to that area and we will definitely return for lunch and may even spend a few nights there. It is very clean and I know you will fall in love with the owners.

Room Tip: How often can you say that you really had fun when you went somewhere? You can here.

We loved our stay here. From the broccoli soup we had for supper to the great breakfast. Bed was so comfortable and the house beautiful. Loved visiting with Bobbye and Phil, our gracious hosts. Without Bobbyes help and her map we would never have found some of the attractions we wanted to see as the signs for them are not that great! If we are ever back this way we will stay here again!

The Isabella provided us some of the nicest hospitality we have ever had at a B&B. After a long day of travel, we could find no good place to eat in Port Gibson. Our host offered to make us dinner, even though the Isabella's restaurant was not serving the evening we were there. Our room was spacious, beautifully furnished with the added beauty of stained glass, and had a very comfortable bed and spectacular shower in the modern bathroom. The Isabella is in a gracious older home in the historic and pretty town of Port Gibson. We highly recommend this B&B.

All the beauty of a lovely historical home plus the comforts of totally renovated bathrooms, great beds and linens, and top-of-the-line cleanliness throughout. My room was very large, plus I had the run of the house with television, books, games, and lots of comfy places to hang out. Despite the historical nature of the building the interior design manages to include the MOST comfortable furniture! I was traveling on business and by myself, but never felt alone. Bobbye and Phil and the other guests were always around to whatever degree was welcome, and on the weekend I had the Natchez Trace and surrounding towns to explore. Both proprietors cook, making the Isabella a hub for eating out in this little town. If you're biking or exploring they'll pack your lunch for you on request. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Rooms near the rear of the house are quieter.

This bed and breakfast is something special. When we stayed at Isabella's this spring, Bobbye and Phil gave us good advice about what to see and do and kept us entertained with stories about local doings. They made us feel comfortable and at home. Bobbye is a great cook. What was not to like?

It was like staying with relatives, if your relatives were funny and interesting, great hosts and lived in a beautiful old house

Room Tip: All four of the rooms in the main house were on the second floor and very attractive.
