Could have been a really nice visit if I were younger and not handicapped. Not really handicapped friendly. A lot of walking to elevator, then it didn't go to sleeping floor. Had to take narrow ramps up or down to get to room. Beds were extremely hard.
The place was old, but beautiful. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was a bit overdone but several options were available/all self service. Staff was not present to refill when items ran out.

Pros:
Quiet, not a lot of guests
Bed and pillows comfortable
Evidence of *some* remodeling

Cons:
I had various problems with the first room I was assigned and I asked to move rooms.
The phone would ring randomly.
The smoke alarm battery was chirping.
No housekeeping came after the first night.
The parking lot was not well lit.
No exhaust or fan in the bathroom.
No complimentary notepad and pen.
Billing problem which required multiple calls to the office after checking out to get problem corrected.

Stayed here as it was the hotel in which a group rate was given for our family reunion. Upon driving up, the look of the outside was very old. Upon walking into the main entrance, I was immediately hit with a strong mildew smell. Although the inside of the hotel itself didn't smell that way, it's just a strange stale smell throughout. The hotel itself just looks old!! The room seemed clean enough, but had old, nicked furniture, a wall light that takes forever to come on, and then has a constant buzzing noise, and the bathroom is small, old, and has no exhaust fan. We checked in on a Wednesday and were given breakfast vouchers. We were getting married Thursday morning, so didn't bother trying to use them that day. Upon returning to our room after being gone all day on Thursday, we were horrified to see that absolutely no housekeeping took place!! NONE!! Our towels were still on the bathroom floor where we placed them in order to let staff know we wanted them replaced, and the bed still unmade. Getting up on Friday morning, we were going to go to breakfast, only to see that the vouchers were dated for July 3rd-the day of our check-in. When heading out on the 5th, housekeeping approached us and asked if we needed anything done. We advised we needed linens changed, trash emptied and towels restocked. We also received another set of breakfast vouchers for the following day, but no apology or ownership for the lack of housekeeping for the day before.
There was also an entrance other than the main one that was closer to our room. It had no lighting at all, and on top of that, according to a sign by the door, it was a locked entrance. The entrance was in fact, NOT LOCKED- EVER!! Definitely WILL NOT stay here again!!!

The check in was very unprofessional. Deneisa sent us to the wrong floor for a first floor room. No housekeeping, bad breakfast (yuck) , dirty walls, mirrors and floors.

The maintenance guy was the saving grace. He mop the floor when the refrigerator leaked and saw that we did not have towels, so he took the old ones and brought new!

Our family stayed here over the weekend, and I could not believe how horrible this hotel was. The complex is big, which is about the only positive. The grounds are not kept up, with tall grass and weeds, and outside our room on an upper level there were swarms of wasps flying around constantly. This former Holiday Inn University from the 1970s has not been updated much since that time. Bathroom fixtures are very old and outdated. Paint is peeling in many places, and the beds were very uncomfortable. I rarely saw any staff around, and another family with us was told there was no housekeeping at night, so they were unable to get fresh bath towels (that had not been replaced). I have never been to a hotel I would tell others not to visit, but this one takes the cake...do not stay here.
