Finally ate here on our last day of the trip. It sits right on the tide waters marsh. Mike was great. The restaurant is rustic but very clean. We ordered Fried seafood platter and fried oysters. The breading used was perfect and delicious. This is a secret. Don't judge this place by the looks of the outside. Mike also runs a fishing charter business down stairs. The restaurant is situated above with lovely views of marsh and the wildlife.

The softshell crab and raw oysters are the bomb. AND the beer is very cold. I plan my trips from Florida to Houston so I can stop at Mikey's!

Cheap, clean, tasty? What more could you ask for? It is very much the bayside eating place.

If you want to go where the locals go, Mike's is the place. They have generous portions and a different noon special each day of the week. We especially liked their shrimp and fries platter and the shrimp spaghetti.

Great location, right on Fort Bayou. The place was buzzing but not packed. We were waited on right away and our server was prompt and attentive. We were not seated where we had a view and there seemed to be some sort of a leak that was puddling water on the floor :-(

I ordered the Seafood Platter and to say it was disappointing is an understatement! Let's just say that overcooked will be the word of the day. I think that this food had been re-heated to the point that it wasn't food anymore - I could have knocked you out with one of the hushpuppies! Vicky decided on their signature(?) dish the Shrimp Bread. Well, guys she left a lot of that there for them to feed to the fishy out in Fort Bayou. We both did like the salad, it was fresh and a generous size, but it alone could not make this a "good meal" kinda deal.

We will definitely NOT be going back to Mikey's!
