My wife and I were looking for a quick 1-2 night stay not too far from Louisiana. After I found Front Beach Cottages online, I was quickly disappointed to find that they had no availability for the weekend we wanted to stay, however, when I called Cathy and spoke with her on the phone, she offered to put me on a waiting list. 2 days before our trip, she called back with an opening at the NOLA cottage.
Upon arrival, Cathy had emailed us our directions and instructions so that there was no check-in process or waiting. We found the NOLA cottage to be WONDERFUL! It was so elegant and offered anything you could want. The design and layout is perfect for two. The kitchen area had a new Starbucks Verismo coffee maker and a full slate of kitchen items. The full size free-standing tub was great along with the back porch area. We especially love being able to leave the windows open the whole time and not having to worry about the sound of traffic, cars, or other tourists. Even the plants and flowers around each cottage enhance the entire experience.
We especially loved being able to walk 1/4 of a mile to the non-crowded beach front away from all the tourist traps over in Biloxi. If you're into running/biking, there are countless routes that you can run from the cottages that provide gorgeous scenery with sweeping oak trees.
The downtown Ocean Springs area is where we found ourselves spending most of our time. It is truly a great walk-through experience. It offers everything from boutique shopping, to antiques, decorations, and some fantastic restaurants. By far, this was the biggest surprise to us.
But most definitely, you could stay at the Front Beach Cottages property the whole time and never once explore the town or beach nearby and you would still have a fantastic experience.
We will definitely be coming back in the near future and plan on referring many of our friends to stay at Front Beach Cottage also!
