Went for dinner. Got grilled shrimp. It was more like sautéed shrimp. Shrimp were small. Salad bar was ok except for the fake bacon bits.

We meet some relatives for breakfast at Grits and Grace. It was a nice option to have a local place to eat that wasn't fast food.
There were so many great options that it was hard to pick what to eat. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. The service was ok. I can't wait to go back and try their lunch menu.

I had lunch at Grits and Grace last week and it was really pretty good. Judging from the menu and the specials of the day, this is definitely a "home cooking" kind of place. No fancy decor, no fancy dishes, but the food was good.

I highly recommend the fried green tomatoes, although they aren't quite as good as Zack Garvins. But still good.

By daughter seems to love their hamburgers, and she's pretty picky about a burger. These are really big and tasty.

I haven't eaten breakfast here yet but I know several people who do eat breakfast there on a regular basis. They say it's great.

This is a little ways off the interstate but worth the detour if you are driving through and want some Southern hospitality and don't want to eat at a fast food chain. There aren't a lot of restaurant options in Newton, but this one is pretty high on my list of places to eat.

Just be warned, you won't find much that you can label as "healthy" and vegetarian options will be slim. But that's not unusual in Mississippi.

Was driving north on Highway 45 and was getting hungry. Used the GPS to locate a restaurant close by and wound up in Newton MS. Well the restaurant on the GPS no longer existed but low and behold right around the corner was Grits and Grace.

They had a chalk board menu for lunch which had two entrees available. The meals are inclusive which included a salad, entree, desert and a drink.

Salad was lettuce, tomatoe and a couple of items and everything was fresh. Salad dressing was good. The entree was delicious. I had the oven fried pork chop with stuffing and fresh corn on the side. For desert I had the banana pudding and wasn't disappointed with that either.

The place was so busy folks were standing in line waiting for a table. Since I was traveling by myself and had a large table, I invited an elderly couple to share the table. They were very nice folks from Newton and this made the meal even better.

I give Grits and Grace two thumbs up.
