I understand they take a few shots for being a touch pricey, but it's an experience destination. Think of it as a restaurant/musuem full of food and local history.

If you're in sales and looking for a great place to take a client on the challenging side, I couldn't think of a better place to start.

Had dinner last night at Weidman's. The food, service, and atmosphere were all great. We shared the cakes. Although we should of had 2 entrees, instead of splitting one, they were delicious. All crab meat.
We will return.

On your way to Birmingham? Jackson, Miss.? Some other stop off Interstate 20? Stop in Meridian to eat at Weidmann's. Follow the signs to downtown Meridian, and you can't miss it.

The restaurant has undergone a TOTAL change. The dinner menu is much more upscale now, and the peanut butter crocks are gone. We were there for dinner on a Friday night. To begin, we selected the fried calimari with cilantro aioli as our appetizer. (DIVINE.) We moved on to crabcakes and tilapia as our entrees. (OMG.) As I said before, dinner is a little pricey now, but the food is amazing.

Service was great, and our waiter had wonderful suggestions.

I believe there's a bar above the restaurant, and they may serve more reasonably-priced fare there. (However, the bar is clearly not non-smoking, as we could see hazy drifts emanating from it. Just an FYI.)

Weidmann's is a little hard to locate but worth the trip. The old world feel takes you back to the 40's and the food is excellent. To me the most intriquing gift you can buy in Mississippi is a clay jar of peanut butter from the Weidmann's gift counter. It's a great conversation piece and the peanut butter is excellent. Check it out!
