Been there before, but was even more amazed to see it years later… It made it through hurricane Katrina!

This is located on the University of So. Mississippi campus. It is an amazing tree. This Oak tree is over 500 years old. The square foot area of the branches is 1600 s.f.! It has survived both of the most recent hurricanes, Katrina and Isaac, not to mention all of the other hurricanes, also.

my husband and i have seen many of these oak trees in our traveling but when you consider all this one has been through it makes it almost haunting to walk around under the huge limbs. if you enjoy taking in part of God's beauty and considering the history of our Mississippi coast, this one is free.....enjoy!

This tree is awesome!! It was defiantely worth the trip to Biloxi. This tree is so old the limbs are growing out of the ground.

This tree is amazing. The tip to tip width is 155 ft. It is recovering from the damage done by Katrina. I would have given it 5 stars but the construction around the tree took a little bit away from it.
