As the previous reviewer said, the hotel was slammed with "refugees" during Hurricane Gustav. We were a family of these so-called "refugees," forced to evacuate South Louisiana when the hurricane was heading our way. I am a frequent guest of Hampton Inns nationally, so we decided to stay at the Hampton Inn Jackson. I booked a few days before the hurricane arrived, and I'm glad I did because the entire city ended up selling out of hotel rooms. The first thing I noticed was how friendly the staff was upoin our arrival. About 30 minutes after checkin, someone from the hotel staff called all four of our rooms asking us if we were happy with the accomodations. We were. Rooms were large and clean, but slightly dated. We were travelling with my elderly grandmother and the hotel manager even went to the drugstore for her! Breakfast at this Hampton was particularly good and the pool was clean. Vending machines accepted credit cards - how cool! All in all, this was an excellent property and I'd stay here again (hopefully not during another evacuation!).
