After researching several well-rated restaurants, we decided to visit this up-and-coming bbq gastropub located in Jackson's historical Fondren district. The concept is catchy, sure, but the Pig and Pint truly lived up to their name. The service was top-notch: friendly and knowledgeable. The food was outstanding. We ordered the barbecue tacos sampler - the pulled pork came in 1st, followed by a close beef brisket and the barbecue chicken. The smoked tomato coleslaw could have used a tad more vinegar but was otherwise delicious. And the fried green tomatoes were the best we've ever eaten (with quite a basis of comparison). The brew selections included a wide range of local and regional craft beers, and the bartender made sure that we were pleased with our choices before pouring our pints. Of course, we had to get t-shirts and koozies!
