“Breakfast stop”
Reviewed November 4, 2013 via mobile

Good food. It has been there for years and is a good place to grab a bite. An old grocery store turned into a grill.

I've been eating there for about 45 years and still enjoy it.

“Pick me up a super breakfast sandwich”
Reviewed October 12, 2013 via mobile

I've eaten their on spurts, and love that however u want it attitude. The food is pretty good, not a big crowd. In addition they do hv a sit down area if u can't wait, cause it's actually a pick up spot.

“Old school Jackson”
Reviewed July 4, 2013

In every city, there are a few joints that have been around forever. Beatty Street Grocery is one of those. The people taking your order and ringing you up? They want to chat. They make good suggestions. They probably know every nook and cranny of the city.

The food isn't anything fancy, but the portions are huge and the prices are low. I had a giant (and really good) burger with a side of fries and a drink, for about $5. The reason you come to Beatty Street is because of its sense of place. It's just so Jackson; it communicates so much to you about this area, this city, and the folks that live here. Worth a stop.

“A lunch icon in Jackson, MS.”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

I had lunch at Beatty Street Grocery on June 26, 2013. It had been a long time since I had eaten at Beatty Street. Beatty Street Grocery has been owned and operated by the same family for around 80 years. It used to be a real grocery store, but over the years it became a restaurant. I had the tuna sandwitch and french fries with tea. The sandwitch was very good, and it was just how I rememberd it. It was cut in half, and very sloppy to eat. Also the lack of plates and flatware was a dissapointment. They have a "pay before you eat" policy which was a little insulting, but, I guess that is just their policy. Beatty street is nothing special, but the sandwitches are great. The $8 I paid for the meal was a bargan for what I received. This is an interesting place to eat, and the food is good. I will be going back.

“food, service & staff”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

What can I say about Beatty St. Groc. Let me count the ways. :) The food is worth the wait when you go to that place. The hamburgers, french fries that you can get Tony seasoning or Lemon Pepper or just regular salt on them with pepper. Anything that you want; from a hamburger to poboys to fried egg sandwich to liver/cheese with bologna & mustard or mayo. and the tea is good also. They also have chips and other drinks as well. You can also buy some groceries there. The staff is and have always been kind and I can not wait to go back to Beatty Street Grocery Store. Everyone needs to go at least once in their lifetime just so they can say they have been to the best hamburger joint in the city of Jackson MS.
