Country Squire restaurant has been a favorite of mine for years and judging by crowds one can see here from AL, TN, and MS, it is a favorite of others too. Highlights include the freshest salad bar within a 100 mile radius and believe you me, I have tried them all. The bar is kept clean and refreshed. Unlike many restaurants with "salad" bars, the choices Include: FRESH, vegetables, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, cauliflower, broccoli, freshly prepared carrots (not bagged), bell pepper, onion, etc. "real boiled" eggs vs the frozen ones found on most bars now, cheese, and some processed items such as olives, pickles, etc. To me a salad is lacking if I don't have fresh dressing and the restaurant makes their own. Good! Then for the regular menu, ribeye steak, cut at your table, is grilled right in front of you or "all you can eat" pond raised catfish are favorites. Hushpuppies are brought to your table to nibble on while you await your food and words can't describe a warm cornbread fried fritter like these. I order grilled chicken frequently. There are other meat selections, seafood etc. and they will do their best to prepare it to your specification. If you have room after your main meal, try a homemade dessert, or get one to take with you to eat later. It is a dinner only restaurant. I think they are closed only on Monday night. If you are traveling on HWY 72, you will need to use your GPS to find it, but it is not far from this major highway.
