Reviewed October 9, 2008

I have stayed at this filthy motel 3 times. It is one of the 2 hotels in Tishomingo County, so my choices were limited. The locals swear that the other choice The Sunset, is worse- but I can't see how.

First off there is NO cell phone coverage- despite the fact that they are less than 1.5 miles from the center of town. Any given night you will see dozens of construction dudes pacing around the parking lot trying to find the magic spot that ther cell pohne will get 2 bars.

The filth is outrageous. I have seen crack houses that had fewer stains on the sofas. ALL 3 rooms I stayed in had light purple sofas, with so many stains that it looked like the space nebula backgrounds from Flash Gordon.

The last room I stayed in had dozens of cigarette burns on the carpet, LONG burns like they were dropped as soon as they were lit and left to extinguish themselves. The area in front of the night stand had about several such burns. Every time I show someone the photos I took of the burns, they mistake them for an infestation of catepillars.

Speaking of bugs, that was one bright spot: only one of the 3 rooms I stayed in had roaches.

They provide cable TV, but in 2 of the rooms I stayed some jerk removed the "liberal media" channels like Discovery and CNN, and with only a universal remote, I was unable to get them re-programmed in. Also, in one room they neglected to remove the 25 year old porno VHS tape.

In closing, if you would like to visit picturesque Tishomingo County with your family, you choices are to risk the Sunset or go camping. Or, I hear that there is another Tishomingo in Oklahoma: it may be nice.
