Best food for the price on the coast! We just recently discovered Ben's and eat there at least once a week.

Ben's Deli is well-known among the locals and if you pull up to order, then you're already behind everyone one else who knows to "call in" their takeout order. It's cash only and you need to get in line, even if you've called in your order. There are a few stools to sit on near the window, but most are waiting there for their order to be called out. Most folks come for the overflowing, large seafood platters that have tons of shrimp, fish, stuffed crab and oysters (when in season). It also comes with fries, hush puppies, dinner rolls and potato salad. It's soooo much food that they have to use a large rubber band to hold all the seafood inside the styrofoam tray. The fried seafood is fresh, lightly, breaded and perfectly seasoned. If you're in the mood for something other than fried seafood, then you must try their combination fried rice (shrimp, chicken and pork) that is a nice, large portion. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, so just remember to call ahead and bring some cash!

This is the second time I visited Ben’s. The first time I had the shrimp and fish combo platter, it was A LOT of food, I ended up sharing most of it with co-workers. Today I got the 8” shrimp po-boy and it was without a doubt one of the best I have had on the gulf. Like other people have said, there really isn’t room to sit down and eat, and while waiting on your food, the other patrons look kind of sketchy. The way around having to spend too much time in the lobby is to order your food over the phone about 15 minutes prior to getting there and you will be able to walk right in and get your food and then leave quickly! The only other thing is that they only accept cash, so that is a bit of a pain. I recommend the food and will go back, I will just try to spend as little time there picking up my food next time.

The best thing about this "deli" is the burgers. Why it is call a deli is besides me since EVERYTHING IS FRIED! That being said, if you want a very good cheese burger with fries and a can drink for less than $6. This is your place! Daddy's spicy combo is a must try!

Seafood platter is incredible and super large , will always go there when I am in that area of town, the place is a lot better for take out because of very limited seating
