First let me say that the good at the hotel restaurant was great. Service not so great. The Viking store and school were fun. We did the Vegas steakhouse class, it was fun but not really a class. Everything was premeasured and there was really little to do other than put stuff in oven. As for the Alluvian not impressed. For one the bed sagged in the middle making it a very uncomfortable sleep. It needs to be replaced. The rooms were not to special not much different than an average hotel but at a much steeper price. Probably will not return as there is nothing to do during the day unless you are at the spa. Every other building on the block is pretty much empty.

Thanks for the great dinner and evening. It's not often in the Mississippi Delta you come to such a little jewel. Mr. Mac the bellhop is a awesome guy! Make sure you go across the street to the Viking store.

Enjoyed this a great deal, came from the Shack Up Inn in Clarksdale so it was a welcome change and the other end of the tourist experience. Sophisticated but not pretentious. Food was as good as expected. We skipped the food prep classes across the street. While our friends did two of them. They liked them, we would not have...so all was well in the end.

The Alluvian is a very pleasant surprise in the Delta. By far, the nicest hotel for 100s of miles. The rooms, restaurant, bar-everything is great. The spa & cooking school are across the street. Weekend packages available. There's also a great bookstore/art gallery on the same block-Turnrow. A must if you are visiting the area.

Spent the weekend with four girlfriends here and cannot say enough great things about this place. The hotel is exceptional, beautiful, and comfortable. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We had a great time! Across the street was the Viking cooking school, which was also so much fun, educational, not to mention delicious. The spa was just wonderful, massages, manicure, pedicures, facials.... So relaxing and perfect, calm, and quiet, complete with, well, just everything! We had dinner one evening at the restaurant, Giardina, and the food and ambiance was perfection! Best Steak ever! Can't believe that we have lived within 3 hours of all of this and have never been there before! Totally recommend it all and look forward to returning soon with my husband.

Room Tip: (I marked excellent on pool rating, although I did not see a pool. )

My daughter and I had a little GNO weekend at Greenwood,Ms recently and stayed 3 nights at the Alluvian Hotel and also took a Viking Cooking Show. We had a great time at both places. The hotel was wonderful!! The staff were so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was yummy. Rooms very clean, beds comfortable. This was the second trip for my daughter and my first time. Definitely on my list of places to visit again!

What a hidden surprise in lovely Greenwood, MS. This boutique hotel is well worth the drive. It is so well decorated and comfortable with a most inviting and accomodating staff. The beds are very comfortable and rooms are immaculate. It is a true step back into the Ole South with the most wonderful hospitality and amenities. A great weekend getaway and breakfast is included in the room cost.
