The food was excellent, atmosphere cozy and romantic. The only thing I would change is adding having tomatoes on the salad bar. Should have given a five but I LOVE tomatoes!

Fred Cerami has created a rich, thick red sauce with just the right spiciness that makes for great lasagna and spaghetti. Salad wagon is literally that- Fred's first street side wagon from old days in New York. Salads are simple but delicious with a chopped olive mix and oil and vinegar. Yummy desserts, my favorites are the Italian cream cake, two can split this one, and the tiaramisu. Lots of green and red bunting and flags give a festive Italian atmosphere. Old memorabilia and pictures line the walls. Soft music plays in background. Live music on weekends is great with lots of Frank Sinatra, Cole Porter, Nat King Cole, etc. You feel like you're in a trattatoria in Rome when you walk in. Last month we watched a young man get down on one knee and propose to his happy date. Lots of fun there.

Actually- I don't know if its the only one, because it was one of the first restaurants I found close to my house when I moved here 6 years ago, and I never looked for another! The atmosphere is casual but sophisticated. On weekends there is a piano player. They have a salad cart and it is well maintained, but I wish they had a slightly more diverse offering on the cart. Desserts are amazing here. The restaurant is priced appropriately for the portions and service here is ALWAYS great. In addition to the food and atmosphere, management will happily give you a history lesson on the workings or Rankin Co.

Great Italian food. I had the Cajun pasta with blackened tilapia. Great flavor and cooked to perfection. If Fred Cerami says to order it, do as you are told.

This is a great place for a romantic evening or for an outing with the kids.
