“LOVED the patriotic atmosphere of this family run farm! ”

My cousin and I visited Mitchell Farms to purchase raw green peanuts. Had no idea how incredible this family-run farm is! Decorated with a patriotic theme, the demeanor of these all-American family is kind, warm and trusting. A throwback to the 60's. See my photos... A "leave your money box", barn painted with "In God We Trust", country fellas helping load your purchases, etc. And, in October they have a "Peanut Festival" with all sorts of family fun filled events. The most unique thing, however, was the Goat Castle! My picture says it all...

There was something for each of the girls to do and have fun, which was great since there is 5 years difference in their ages. Took the best photos of them having a blast with kids they met. Highly recommend this, especially during fall festival.

This is a great place to bring kids, it has a miniature town, goats to be fed, various things to climb or bounce on. And adults will find plenty to be interested in, a general store, a historic building full of collectibles, fresh sweet potatoes or peanuts or whatever is in season. Its a good place to visit anytime, but the Peanut Festival is what I always show up for. Along with all the permanent attractions, add craft vendors, food vendors, a corn maze, and just a lot of fun!

We've taken our grandchildren several times in October. They love picking out a pumpkin of their very own. Very enjoyable!

Such a fun place. My grandchildren want to move in. The Mitchell family work hard all year to provide a safe, exciting, family fun filled environment for the Fall with traditional autumn activities, where kids can play like kids used to play, getting dirty, spending energy in a wholesome atmosphere. I highly recommend spending as much time there during Pumpkin Patch season which begins the last weekend in September through the first weekend in November each year. OPEN TO THE PUBLIC ONLY ON WEEKENDS. Weekdays are reserved for school field trips!
