At the end of a long day of walking this friendly and well located B&B is something special. Gary and Barbara treat you as one of the family in their magnificent home. Nothing is too much and every aspect is considered to deliver a first rate experience. In fact we felt like telling them to relax so much attention was paid to our needs. Very hard to fault.

We spent a few days walking the track "the wrong way" and ended up at the lovely No Road Inn. Stayed the night before at the close-by resort and must say, we'd wished we'd spent 2 nights at NRI. Fabulous room and bathroom with a great view.
Best bits were - hot tub, dinner, wine, room and hospitality (i.e.everything!!). Definitely recommend it.

I have tramped the Queen Charlotte Trail as a back packer a few times before, but decided to take the wife in some luxury to the New Road Inn for a couple of days. We were not disappointed.
We were greeted by the owners Barbara and Gary and immediately made to feel at home. They are a fund of information about the locality. The lodge is in a fantastic location nestled in native trees but with magnificent views over the Endeavour Inlet. Their home successfully combines traditional New Zealand styles with every modern comfort, even including an outdoor hot tub; the guest rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished.
The evening meals reflected the best of New Zealand with locally produced meat and fish and shellfish from the Sounds, complemented by a selection of Marlborough wines.
It was a great stay in a spectacular location with excellent hospitality. It went by all too quickly.

The only people who wont absolutely love this luxurious, spacious accomodation, with its delicious food and friendly hosts are those who think walking is a Spartan activity and shouldn't be corrupted by pleasure. That certainly didn't include us! We loved it.

We spent 3 wonderful days at the No Road Inn enjoying the wonderful hospitality that Barbara and Garry provided. Nestled in a private setting within the beautiful Marlborough Sounds, the accommodation is extremely comfortable and well setup with luxurious amenities - loved the en-suite bath tub with wonderful bush views. The outdoor hot tub was an extremely pleasurable experience and very soothing after a long walk on the Queen Charlotte track.
The food was incredibly good - a selection of freshly caught seafood followed by some beautiful New Zealand lamb and desert all complimented with some of the best wine I've tasted.
Overall, this was one of the most relaxing breaks we've ever had and we intend to return again later this year.

Barbara and Gary were amazing hosts. We were taken fishing and on a tour of old-growth trees on and around their property. The food was amazing. The rooms were lovely. We even had a bathtub in front of a large cirular window overlooking the bay. As an added bonus they have hot tub fashioned from an old wine barrel and are eco-friendly. It is wonderful to find such down-to-earth people in such an exquisite place. I almost wished I could have stayed there all week.
Dinner was crayfish followed by lamb, potatoes, salad and rice and then dessert. The inn offers a nice selections of wines to accompany dinner. Breakfast is provided and is in the room. Our rooms had a deck facing the bay. There were hammocks and a large entertainment room. I would recommend everyone to visit this largely undiscovered gem if they have the time.
