Walked the Queen Charlotte track with my 2 sisters and our first night was at No Road Inn. I can only describe it as heavenly! From the moment I laid eyes on the place, the setting.. the decor...the garden...then met our lovely hosts and taken to our gorgeous rooms..with claw foot baths with amazing views...following a soak in the outdoor hot tab... then our delicious meal. We felt very welcomed but we also had plenty of privacy. The website doesn't do justice to the place or the experience! If you want something really special where attention to detail is amazing then make sure you stay at No Road Inn! We loved it.

I recently walked the Queen Charlotte Track and had booked in to No Road Inn for the first night. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer! Garry and Barb (along with Archie and Ash) are wonderful hosts and they have considered every possible detail which made our stay a very special one.The rooms are lovely, spacious and private; the bathrooms are divine; the views are amazing; the dinner and wine were lovely and best of all, the hot tub after a long walk was fabulous. This was really the highlight of our 4-day walk. Highly recommended!

I had already heard great things about this place but I did not tell my husband so he walked in with low expectations. He was totally blown away! We had spent the day walking from Ships Cove and were immediately greeted by Gary with the offer of a beer or wine. We chatted on the deck looking at the beautiful view before being shown the property. The rooms are impeccable, with no detail left out. Clean, spacious and tastefully decorated. The outdoor bath was a wonderful experience. Dinner wih Gary and Barbara and the other two guests was like sitting down to a gourmet dinner party. The food was amazing (especially liked the whitebait) and the company even better. Had a wonderful time and it was hard setting off for the next stage of the walk the next day.

We arrived tired and foot weary after the first section of the Queen Charlotte Track - and what a place to recover in! Every detail of this delightful place thoughtfully worked out, from the quirky bathrooms well provided with all the necessaries, to the huge and comfortable bed, the deck access, lovely views. And to crown it all, a great soak in the rustic hot tub in the woods, even as gales lashed the shore, a perfect place to soothe aching limbs.
The hosts were hugely welcoming and we were really sorry not to have known we needed to book dinner in advance as we are sure it would have been brilliant. Do remember to do this before you arrive.
This was the most delightful stay in our five day, four night trek, and we can't recommend more highly.

Room Tip: Ask for an upstairs room, possibly nicer views.

What more could you ask for - the offer of a cold beer when you arrive off the track, a clean well fitted out room with a large comfortable bed and superb views, hosts who are attentative without being overpowering and the best of local food and wine?
My instinct is to try to avoid situations where you dine with the hosts, but at No Road Inn this turned out to be the highlight of our stay. The food was superbly done, and the company perfect. Gary and Barbara were very skilled at ensuring that everyone felt part of the group and that no one monopolised. On offer was a very good selection of local wines at reasonable mark ups.
As we were walking the entire track we'd only booked for a single night and we left wishing we were staying a little longer.
We can't recommend this place highly enough.
