We stayed for 2 nights and were blessed with excellent weather. The accomodation is spacious and welcoming, extremely well appointed and truly 5 star! Fabulous views of Queen Charlotte Sound. We enjoyed the walking and kayaking very much indeed, also the little pool and hot tub. You are completely isolated here so don't expect any where to buy any groceries! There is a lovely kitchen area and everything you need for self catering but take all your food with you if you intend to eat in your chalet.

Room Tip: Expect steep open paths and steps. Nick and Pip do a tremendous service with their little buggy if y...

Your review is a reminder that the winter in the Marlborough Sounds is as special as the summer, just a little cooler but still temperate and generally calm. We do have kitchenettes in the apartments and we can assist with supplies from the local supermarkets in Picton (who deliver to the Watertaxis and out to us around 3 times per day) or even get food items directly from the Bay of Many Coves Kitchen; however we do find that most people indulge in the cuisine created by our Chefs. It is always nice to have the choice though. We are glad that the experience at the Bay of Many Coves was a positive one for you.Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on the bay, we do appreciate the feedback.

I couldn't recommend the Bay of Many Coves highly enough. My girlfriends and I had lovely, restorative spa treatments under Rochelle's great hands. We ate fab food - the degustation dinner a stand out - and found time in-between to walk, kayak, cruise Queen Charlotte Sound on the Lady Karen, fish, soak in the hot tub and laze about in just stunning surroundings.

All this made possible by our great hosts Pip and Nick and their excellent team who made the experience one to remember. Will be back for certain.

A fine summary of what we witnessed as a special three days shared with good friends. We enjoyed the atmosphere, fun and laughter and we are thrilled that it was memorable for you. Especially the massages, more than two hours per Lady - indulgent, and so you should be - this is a perfect spot for it. We hope to welcome you and yours in the future.

This is such a stunning setting - and the resort is empathetic to its gorgeous environment. I went with a group of five old girlfriends - and we are thoroughly spoilt. We loved the spa treatments - and the food was truly divine. Pip and Nick were very gracious and accommodating hosts - and went out of their way to ensure we had a brilliant time. Highly recommend the Lady Karen - we tried our hand at disc shooting and fishing (we weren't that successful at either but had a lot of fun!). We went in early June and didn't have that much sunshine, but it didn't spoil our time there - the sounds look great in low cloud with lots of moody greys.

Thank you for taking the time to submit your thoughts on your stay with us last month. I don't think the friends were 'old - but definitely long standing! It was a real pleasure to welcome the 6 of you and ensure you made the most of your three nights with us, on and off the water. We hope to have the opportunity to host you in the future, or your friends or family who are visiting the region - and need to escape from Auckland!

We stayed here 8 years ago and loved it and my husband promised we could return---always wonder if your memory and current reality will match......IT DOES! It is absolutely gorgeous here---peaceful, magnificent in every way. THe room is lovely----with floor to ceiling windows of the sounds----you can wake to the sunrise and the birds singing. The staff couldn't be more helpful in a non-intrusive way. We took the mailboat out for a tour around the sounds---enjoyed it very much. I can't recommend this place enough---it is fabulous!

It is always a real treat to welcome 'return' guests to the Bay of Many Coves, and equally to know that the repeat stay was superb also - and all the way from the USA!
We hope it is not 8 more years until we can welcome you again to the Queen Charlotte Sound, or at least some of your friends or family. We are glad the mail-boat cruise was an experience worth undertaking - a place without roads in definitely unique to see from the mail-run at all the different bays and jetties meeting the local animals and 'Sounds' Folk. Take care until we (hopefully) meet again. The team at the Bay.

Idyllic, secluded gem of a hotel. We had a fantastic stay at the bay of many coves resort. The accommodation is luxurious and the service attentive. Every member of staff added to the experience. A holiday as adventurous or as relaxing as you require. We enjoyed kayaking, the spa pool, fantastic wine and outstanding food. Great walks with the added bonus of our tour guide 'Merlot' the resident dog. A superb resort for a holiday, honeymoon or a magnificent setting for a small intimate wedding. All the little touhes making it that extra special. We will hopefully return one day soon. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so perfect.

Thank you both for the feedback, and we are glad that it was 'up there' as part of the great memories of your adventures around the world. The team at the Bay are thrilled that you enjoyed their service, the Chef's happy the food was good and the Dog always keen on a good hike and the fine company of our guests. Glad you felt the 'balance' of action and relaxation that we think the place is perfect for. Thank you again, happy travels and we certainly look forward to welcoming you back to our piece of paradise on your next travels down-under.

Where do I start. The resort is set in one of the most beautiful locations we have been to. The room was amazing with a sensational view over the cove. The food both during the day and at night is truly an experience in itself. My wife enjoyed the spa experience while I went for a kayak across the bay. The staff were very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The water taxi transfer while a little expensive is a great little trip up the sound. I highly recommend this resort and this part of the world.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay last month at the Bay of Many Coves. It sounded like a perfect balance of exercise, pampering, scenery and cuisine. We are sorry you felt the water-taxis were expensive, something out of our control, glad the journey itself was worthwhile of course.

Our party (one adult and 4 teenagers) camped at BOMC while senior females walked the Queen Charlotte track. We got the better deal!
Its hard to fault - a wonderful location, great hosts and excellent accommodation with many thoughtful extras.
Some nights we self catered using the comprehensive kitchen in our apartment, other nights we ate in the restaurant. I was a little concerned that our party would alter the ambience (most of the diners were couples) of the restaurant but shouldn't have worried. We enjoyed the excellent food and service and on our last night celebrated at 14th birthday with a memorable cake provided by the chefs.
Will return in the not too distant future, possibly without the teenagers.

Room Tip: We stayed in a three bedroom apartment which was excellent with two bathrooms, great living space an...

All in all a great location for the generations traveling together! Thank you for taking the time to review your stay in our spacious Three Bedroom Apartment, perfect for a family get away or for friends wanting to share the living space. The Chef's thoroughly enjoyed creating a special birthday cake for your Son - we are glad it was memorable. We hope to welcome you back perhaps in the more intimate one bedroom apartment next time or bring the family - not to deny them the delights of the Sounds, we look forward to hosting you again.
