“Great Dive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2012

Yes it was an old filling station. It's a dump and very casual but a great place to stop in and have a drink and a bite to eat. We tried the Seafood Gumbo which could have been thicker but was really tasty. The Bacon Parmesan Oysters with garlic, butter, parmesan and bacon we very filling and good. The Roast beef po boy was melt in your mouth delicious. If we lived in the area it would be a regular place for us to stop into.

“Fabulous po-boys!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2012

We ate lunch here after reading reviews on Tripadvisor. It was a fun place...we sat outside under sunny skies and enjoyed our lunch. I had been waiting my whole trip to the Coast to have an oyster po-boy and this was the place! It was really delicious. The negative about this place was that it was packed for lunch with only a few servers. The entire patio was full, and all with drinks, but no food in sight. It took a while, but must admit it was worth the wait. Again, my sandwich was wonderful!

“Great Find in Biloxi - 'cos there's not much else!!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2012

As part of a tour of US southern states, my wife and I (along with the other 27 people on our tour) had a one night stay in Biloxi after coming off a cruise in New Orleans. Our first impression of Biloxi was one of some bemusement, as, other than the casinos, we struggled to find any shops or restaurants.
In the afternoon, after visiting the Hard Rock Casino (using the casino round-tour shuttle bus ($1.25 pp per ride)), we spied McDonalds (not counting that as a restaurant!!) over the road and being a bit desperate by then, we each had a burger and drink as a put-off (hopefully) until later. The roadsign here indicated "Downtown Biloxi", so I suggested we try that direction to see if we could find anywhere as an alternative. In not much more than half a mile walking up the road we came to a crossroad with the Fillin' Station on one side and a Pizza place on the other (seemed shut at the time, not opening until 7 p.m.). A friendly staff member asked what we wanted, and having just been to McD's, we said we weren't ready for anything then but would return but asked her about any shops, etc. nearby. Although she helpfully indicated a direction to go in, all we found were accountants, lawyers, medical centres and the bus depot!! After a fruitless wander around we decided to head back to the Fillin' Station for a drink or two and ended up having drinks and a meal each.
The same friendly girl served us at an outside table under what appeared to be the old garage canopy from when this was the filling station from which its name derives. There was quite a variety of beer/lager drinks, ranging from Newcastle Brown, Blue Moon (we'd come ascross this in New Orleans - lager with a slice of orange - and Stella, which we had (as it was happy hour, this was $3 a pint - went up to $4 after 7).
After quenching our thirsts with a couple of drinks each, we were by then hungry enough to order from the menu - not a massive selection, but what you'd expect from a small bar/diner - but prices were good (about $9 for burgers etc.). I had 8 oz. burger and fries and my wife had chicken with salad, intending to share the sides. The portions were massive!! - the potato my fries were from must have been the size of a football and even with 2 of us eating we still left some. My wife's chicken burger was a bit heavy on the barbeque sauce but that was the only negative really.
In total we had 5 pints of Stella and 2 meals for $40 - not bad value.
The place seemed popular with locals (but that may be due to the lack of any alternative!!), with the 8 or so outside tables nearly all taken during the 3 hours or so we were there, with the smallish interior (made up of two main areas, one mainly dining, the other a bar) well used, with comings and goings all the time.
Overall, quite basic, but friendly staff and good value.

“Great place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 6, 2012

We had read about this place and found it on our trip to Biloxi. We stopped in and had the Debris fries. They were delicious. We went back the next day for Happy Hour from 4-7 and bottled beer was only $1.38. A lot of local people hang out there. Nice friendly place

“Cool little place”

A fun place to eat. Quite small. Smoking is allowed so if that bothers you it could be a problem. Food was good but nit exceptional. Staff was attentive.
