We visited this place on June 5th. There is parking in front of the library. You can visit the house with a guide. When you buy your tickets they tell you at what time the next tour will start. The rest of the visit (cemetery with tomb of confederate unknown soldier, rose garden, museum) is self guided. Next to the gift shop is a theater were you can see 3 movies. The museum is a work still in progress.

Great museum and grounds. I have heard that private donations have rebuilt this historical grounds from hurricane Katrina.
Very interesting I-Max of civil war. Museum is worth the visit. Plan at least 2 hours or more for a good tour of the grounds.
Located on Hwy. 90 between Biloxi and Gulfport.

Be sure to leave time for the film in the little theater. The lady tour guide was very good too.
I would have like to see a film with the before Katrina pictures, and then, with fast forward photography, I'd like to see the rebuilding process.

Amazing! What a very nice surprise! I had visited Beauvoir many years ago and loved this historical site then. I returned this month to find it well intact even after the devastation of Katrina to this area. Jefferson Davis' home has been completely restored. I could visualize my parents sitting on the front porch of this great house when they visited the grounds in the 1940's. Besides that, it is a great place for anyone who loves history to see how folks lived during Confederate times. On this trip, I also visited the library. Good historical information for history lovers and genealogist looking for ancestry information. Very interesting books about the Confederate period can be purchased in the Beauvoir Gift Shop. This Museum, House and Library tell a true story of the life and times of all who lived during this historical period that changed America!
