Description: Appears to be a relatively new business with a large, excellent menu! We were very impressed with the quality of the food, price. Very good thing to see in a still-recovering post-Katrina city.

“Used to be Better”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2013

Quality of ingredients went down. When they first opened we would eat there often, however as time went on the food seemed to change and we realized some of the staff and ownership changed. We tried it a few more times and then have not gone back.

“This place went from very good to poor”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2012

Not sure what happen to this place at their old place the food was very good. They built a very nice new place a few blocks away. I have not idea if ownership changed or whatever but we no longer vist this place for Mexican cuisine as of this last week. The new building has been open for several years and we have given it several tries to get good food and service and they failed each and every time. Also, it is now called EL Marguay but as for as what is going on inside is still just not good. I just have to say it like I see it From the door to the food I feel like it is their way or go away. We have asked for very simple request in making food and just about every time it was a problem or did not get cook right. Lastly, on the food however they are heating the food before bringing to the table STOP! It really make the look poor and taste poor.

“EL MAGUEY - new name”

We all loved it and we eat a LOT of Mexican food! Great menu (includes descriptions and vegetarian options) and great service. Wish we lived closer!!! For a delicious treat, order churros.

“Name changed: El Marguay”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2012

With the name change, the food is not good. If you have any appreciation of Mexican cuisine. then you will NOT like this place, becuase the food is awful. Taco Bell is a better bet, and I hate Taco Bell.

“one of the better mexican resturants”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2012

this is one of the older local Mexican food places on the coast. Biloxi and Gulfport have one too. It is pretty good, large portions and very reasonable. Great homemade salsa!!
