“Sleep in your car”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2012

Our room looked nothing like any of the photos. The smell was horrible. The carpet and upholstery were filthy. Our non-smoking room smelled like old smoke and one of the chairs has cigarette burns in it. Never again.

It was one horrible night, the room was really dirty and smell very bad. I did not find any other hotel nearby to go.

It would be better if we spent that night in the car or even in the street.

I can tell you that I have nasea whenever I remember the smell of the bed that stuck to my shirt.

YECCCCCCKKKKKKKKKK

Do not do it if you can find somewhere else.

Room Tip: DO not chose this one please

I am a regular Red Roof visitor and am generally satisfied, but this Red Roof was awful. While the price was cheap and my dogs were allowed, the rooms and grounds were filthy. A large group of us stayed for the weekend and all of us had mold on the walls, filthy carpeting (mine had what looked like dried-up puke), half-cleaned rooms (porno mags and leftover porn stuff in the rooms). The rooms are small and very cramped, walls were stained, room smelled of mold, mold was present and visible on the walls in the bathroom. This motel is an need of a complete upgrade before the walls and carpeting rot away.

There are several annoying things re: this company, itself, plus their check-in process is the pits & the rooms were beyond belief. Unless you're poorer than poor, do NOT stay here. I'll list my observations & first-hand experience.

1. My first mistake was booking this room online. I always call the hotel directly but another member of our family (several members of our family had booked rooms for a funeral nearby) had already checked in & didn't seem to have any major problems so I went ahead. No where on their Web pages is any reference at all to expedia.com. I have never had any luck using them & if I had known this is the 'booking' company I would have run, not walked, to the nearest delete button. My confirmation page, which came 2 days later - we were already on the road so didn't see it - had a different confimation number than the one I was first given. My billing amount was different from my 'receipt'. I could go on & on re: the money part.
2. Checking in: It was almost as tho they didn't have my reservation. They had photos of 3 different 'size' rooms, all of which seemed to cost the same?. Apparantly there are actually 4 different kinds of rooms - see below.
3. I had booked a king with mic & frig. There was a king bed alright but it had 2 different mattresses underneath. Never mind the dust, mold & cover off of the air conditioning unit.
4. I went back up to the office to complain about no frig or mic. She said she couldn't do anything about anything as she just checked people in and out (which took awhile cuz she was using her computer & couldn't seem to get it to work). She gave me a phone no. Of course that person referred me to yet another phone number (which is when I found out I was really dealing with expedia.com & not red roof inn) who referred me to yet another phone number which, of course, didn't work.
5. We decided to stay as several of our family members were also staying at the same place - remember, i've been on the road for 2-3/4 days plus their for a funeral). Big mistake. Neither my brother nor myself had wash cloths in the room. No coffee pot (although I wouldn't have used it anyway). They had a coffee pot with the sugar/creamer pkg having been already opened. When I was getting ready for the funeral the next day, i discovered there was no hair dryer either. (here's the only plus - they delivered one to the room quickly).
6. Apparantly they house down-&-out or homeless people as there seemed to be a big family (or she was babysitting several children of all ages) at the end unit. That afternoon there was a lady who appeared to have been removed from the hotel (looked like she had been living there as all of her belongings (boxes & bags) were there with her as she sat on the sidewalk. Good for them but they should have let us know.
7. I wasn't expecting the 'taj mahal' as the price is low, but not that low! I did expect clean & stocked & what I was paying for.
8. Who ever heard of a clerk who had no power at all????

My wife and I stayed at this hotel because it was close to our family. We soon came to the realization....... HUGE mistake! Our room was dusty, tub barely drained, and brown spots on sheets thankfully we had our sleeping bags with us. The worst thing was the TV was a total sham! It was full of static, cut off & on, and at times just lost the signal. The "free WiFi" was nonexistent to say the least and not to mention the TV......... We ran into someone's lose dog on our way to checkout early I should add. Overall this place should be driven past without even a glance.

I was put here by my company for a work trip. The lady at the front desk was pleasant enough and thats about the high point. The bed wasn't terrible pillows were comfy. However the room was tiny barely enough room for the bed. The carpet was stained badly, my feet stuck to the floor from the numerous uncleaned spills. Judging from the overall look of the place i literally disassembled the bed and checked the place for bed bugs before I brought in anything from my car. Advertised on a giant billboard I saw a couple miles away free wifi in room. The only connection my computer would find was the bar across the parking lot. So don't plan on using the internet. Since my budget wouldn't allow me to go elsewhere I stayed here. The bar next door was nice and had good food. No fridge, microwave, safe, well anything that is standard in today's hotels. Won't be coming back.

We had a group of friends planning to stay at this hotel. When my friend and I arrived, the receptionist was very rude. We went up to our room, which was disgusting. The carpet was stained. The floor had not been swept. Only one of the beds was made. There was hair on the counter. We quickly left and went to a nearby Super 8, which was MUCH nicer.
Our other friends commented that their rooms at Red Roof were dirty. One of our friends thought her room was so disgusting that she refused to leave her suitcase in the room.
