If you are looking for a hotel for a group of people do not stay at Riverport. Our hockey team had a tournament in Winona and the whole team booked rooms at this hotel. When we arrived we were required to read through a whole page of waivers (they called it a contract), initial and sign before we could book a room. That seemed a bit strange.
A couple times throughout our 3 day/2 night stay we were approached quite rudely by hotel staff accusing us of infractions. We were always reminded of the "contract" we signed. One staff member told us that "we are not here to be babysitters." One of the other staff that talked to us in a rude way said she was the manager! All the staff had to do was approach us in a professional and pleasant manner about any infractions and all would have been fine.
Unbelievable, we felt like we were kids being scolded and belittled by the staff. We have been booking hotel rooms for years for our kids' tournaments and never have we experienced anything like this. We definitely won't be coming back to this hotel!
