Thanks Shirley - your helpful knowledge made our short trip to the Heritage Centre very worthwhile. We were impressed with the breadth of the exhibits, and pleased to find a few photos of streets where our family lived (now demolished).
The Heritage Centre isn't especially well signposted - it needs a 'brown sign' off the A road nearby - but once there, parking on the side roads is easy, and the centre has clean toilets too. It's up a flight of stairs though, so perhaps disabled access needs checking if you are in need of such facilities.
There is a lot to see in the centre - including a lot of filed documents, photos and lists you can go through - but it would be useful to see a complete "list of lists" available online at some point - even if the resource themselves aren't online.
If you have Blaina (and district) heritage - it's worth a trip.
