As we progressed through Upware lock, we faced the ultimate dilemma; 1.5 hours to Cambridge, 2 hours to Ely and it was already 1:15pm on Sunday. What to do? Solution, moor up against another parked long-boat, get off and spend a leisurely afternoon at the 5 miles, have some lunch and go back home. Dilemma sorted. A glorious Sunday weather-wise had brought out all shapes and sizes, but the staff serving kept the food coming at a good old rate, so the afternoon went quite quickly. Our French guests enjoyed the sun, and all was well in the world. Idyllic.
