We stayed here while visiting relatives mid/late September 2011. This was more of their off-season period so the park was relatively quiet even though there were lots of folks here but not many kids. Our preferred RV parks are quiet ones without all the attractions for kids. It’s just a personal preference because it’s just me, my wife and cat and we’re almost at the 60 yo mark...Not Molly, she’s 7 (not sure what that is in cat years though).
Kiesler’s does have a lot of activities for kids in season. We could tell this would be a go to place if wanting to entertain children. There were a lot of annual campers and a storage section for boats and RV’s. It’s my understanding talking with relatives that this place really fills up when the kids aren’t in school during the warmer months. The time of year we visited was pretty peaceful. I’m not sure we would stay here in the summer. Clear Lake is across the street and they rent paddle boats, etc.
There is a newer section at the back of the park. These are nice lots that back up to a large field. If we were to stay here again we’d choose one of these. Lots in the rest of the park are fairly close together. All-in-all we would come back early or late in the season but our personal preference would be to find another location during the summer months. Very nice park and well managed.
NOTE: Ellie Gail’s Bakery and Deli located inside Mama’s Mercantile is a great place to eat.
