“Do NOT stay at The Patch - horrible customer service”
Reviewed January 21, 2014

I can't say enough to warn people about the Patch. The management / staff is the rudest, most inconsiderate, nonfriendly and arrogant hotel / motel staff I have ever experienced in my lifetime. I have never been treated with such discontent. A simple inquiry regarding changing accomodations brought an onslought of rude comments and unfriendly suggestions. Rather than stating....I'm sorry that there was a misunderstanding about the room and location that you have been assigned, we will do everything within our power to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We were confronted with - comments like; there's nothing that we can do.....you made the mistake when you made your reservation.....we'll change your room only if someone cancels, but you're going to pay for it.....stop complaining or I'll kick you out. When I asked to speak to management (because of the rudeness and horrific customer service), I was told that I was speaking to the owner! Wow. Usually you'd think that management / owners would have a better business sense and sense of customer value and service. At the Patch, the problems of poor customer service seems to stem from managers / owners. Do yourself a favor and find a different place to stay.....or, take a gamble on the Patch. If you choose The Patch, your best case scenario you get the "privaledge" to stay at a lower end facility with no understanding of customer value. Good luck.

Room Tip: Choose a different hotel / motel.

Has a bar on site with a lunch counter that is good. Room is so so... Small bathroom (see pic) Remember to open the shampoo before you get you hands wet. Easily hear shower, alarm from next room...It is within walking distance to Marvin Windows.

The rooms are cheap...bed, great shower, great tv...no coffee machine...no blow dryer...but we loved it and it served our needs. We definitely would stay again anytime we are up here fishing. Staff are very friendly...convenient dining with great food and bar attached...no drinking and driving...how perfect:)

Way up there, at one of the most Northern corners of the US (except Alaska) on Highway 11 and right across from the Marvin window manufacturing company, the Patch Motel, named after a long-gone strawberry patch provides an opportunity for a simple, quiet, and inexpensive last stay before you get to the international border to Canada. If you are not touring the Marvin factory or are on a fishing trip there is not much reason to come here. The carpeted, no-frills rooms are spacious, bathrooms are small yet clean, and wireless internet access is available throughout. You will have a quiet sleep except for the Canadian train which passes by a few times per night. An internal corridor at ground level connects the motel to Izzy’s, the local hang-out, lounge and grill. Get a room towards east and the parking lot away from the bar (Izzy's), maybe you a greeted in the morning by a splendid sunrise in crystal clear air.

Stayed 2 nights because of a fishing package. The hotel is like a motel 6. Try and ask for the newer part of the motel because it is somewhat newer. Attached restaurant is good food but get there early because they make one order at a time. Also, cafe across the parking lot serves a good breakfeast. There are a couple of other places to stay in Warroad that I would check before the Patch Motel. The train will wake you up in the middle of the night.

Room Tip: Ask for the newer addtion.

We were in Warroad for one night and there are not many options for hotels. This place is very old, dark and should be updated, but it was quiet and clean and we had a good nights sleep. There is plenty of parking, and it is right next door to a gas station with a subway. Based on Reviews I was scared to stay at the Super 8 next door. I would stay again.
