Stayed in Red Wing this past weekend and heard about the center. Really enjoyed ourselves! Admission price allows you to see the five eagles in residence up close, and listen to a one hour presentation. Our speaker was fabulous !! Funny and full of energy! Very informative. I think what they do here is important and they more than earned the admission price. We live in the Twin Cities and I think this is a day trip worth making so our children can learn about these majestic birds .

Great bus trip around Lake Pepin and the River to see hundreds if eagles. Scott is an enthusiastic guide and a wealth if information. A must do at a reasonable price. Do it on Grumpy Old Men Festival Day and watch the River Plunge and participate in the small town holiday commemorating the movie made there.

The “National Eagle Center,” is a must see if you have any interest in eagles. They have five eagles that can not be let back out into the wilderness, because of accidents they are now disabled and would be unable to take of themselves. These birds are beautiful and an unbelievable sight. You will be within five feet and will not believe how awesome a sight that they are.
There is a one hour live presentation that was done by a very enthusiastic young lady who caters a bit to the young people but this senior still found captivating.
Additionally the area (being on the Mississippi River) has a few eagles nested in the area year around.
Parking is a bit curious. Parking is available along the river south of the center.
If this town seems a bit familiar it is because it was where they filmed “Grumpy Old Men.”

My husband and I are from Central Wisconsin. We celebrated an anniversary and traveled to Wabasha, MN to view wintering eagles. The National Eagle Center was amazing. The presentation (with live adult eagle) was educational and fun. The staff has obviolusly spent many hours with the resident eagles as they are completely calm around people. There is an open area where eagles can be viewed up close and we had our pictures taken with a live bald eagle as well. The entire east wall (2 floors) is glass and right on the Mississippi River. We were able to see several eagles from inside and on the outside platform. We did see many more eagles north of Wabasha in Reads Landing, but the education at the center was invaluable.

This place was not expensive at all. It was only $8 for an adult. They gave a very informative presentation where they brought in one of their eagles and you could see them being fed. They have five eagles in all that live there and you can go into an open room where they are tethered. The eagles are very well taken care of so do not feel bad for them. All these eagles would be dead without the Center to care for them. They tell you their stories and you can even have your picture taken with one. There were tons of eagles nesting and flying around outside. If you are ever in the area, you will not regret a visit to this place!
