“Absolutely perfect!”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

My husband and I are Central Wisconsin residents. We were celebrating an anniversary and decided to take a short trip to Wabasha to watch wintering eagles. We had never been to the Turning Waters B&B and now it is the only place we will stay. It is completely charming, clean and comfortable with original woodwork, antiques and big fluffy beds. Our hosts were attentive, but not overly so and helped us to find a wonderful restaurant in Lake City. They were knowledgeable about the area and recommended some routes we had not previously considered. We will definitely return in the warmer weather to try some kayaking. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: the River Room is a suite with a whirlpool tub and natural rain shower. Very comfy and cozy.

My wife and I were enjoying a winter Saturday along the river. At about 7:00 PM, we decided to spend the night in Wabasha and were given a recommendation for one of the local merchants. We were delighted with the warm charm of this cozy beautiful Inn. The Inn keepers made sure our every need was accomodated. We had a great nights sleep and were treated to a fabulious breakfast and great conversation with the other guests the following morning. We wholeheartedly recommend this Inn!!!

My husband and I stayed in the "Prairie Room" at Turning Waters for one night. Our stay exceeded all of our expectations and was far better than any other B&B experience we'd had before. The hosts greeted us with wine, hot tea, and cocoa, and continued to be hospitable throughout our stay. We even curled up to watch a movie in one of the common rooms and were surprised with a warm bowl of fresh popcorn midway through! The decor is perfect - much nicer and more modern than I usually see in B&B's. And the breakfast was as amazing as advertised. The location is great, too - a quick walk to the river or into downtown Wabasha, where there are lots of restaurants and bars to explore. I would happily return!

Room Tip: We had a chance to see each room, and they were all incredible. The Prairie Room was beautiful, comf...

My husband and I loved this place. The room (we stayed in the Coniferous Suite) is beautiful, as is the entire house. Lovely (delicious, yum!) food, lovely people, comfortable and enormous bed, and a 10 minute walk to the Eagle Center which is wonderful! We were there in the middle of winter, which is a great time to see eagles. I am hoping to go again in warmer weather and try out some kayaking. Definitely a place to which we hope to return.

My wife and I have travelled the world over with fond memories too numerous to count, and to think one of our favorite places in the world is less than 2 hours away! We recently visited Wabasha for a weekend get-away and returned inspired, invigorated, and thoroughly excited about our return visit in March! Wabasha with its quaint artisan bakeries (Pembroke Bakery), eateries (Reads Landing Brewing Company), spas (Renew Holistic Health Spa), and the National Eagle Center make it a GREAT vacation destination!
The highlight of our visit was our stay at Turning Waters B&B and A! The gorgeous home itself is steeped in history, the essence of each room is warm, sexy, and soul soothing. Our host, Richie Mann is a true renessance man who, along with his business partners, have created a most phenomenal product for those looking to escape the ordinary and experience something beyond extraordinary!
From the moment we entered the front door the organic energy of Turning Waters was palpable. The unique detail of every room from the furniture to the art, from the books to the plants, from the unique lighting to the woodwork was inspirational!
And have I mentioned the breakfast yet? The amazing photos on their website do not do justice to the feast Richie and Patsy prepared for us. Blood oranges, blackberries, scones, a goat cheese-egg-parma ham-avacado bake, cinnamon sugar bacon (you have not LIVED until trying the bacon!), banana-bacon pancakes, and the list goes on!
We are counting down the days until our return to Turning Waters in March. We look forward to time well spent with new found friends.

My husband & I stayed here for our Anniversary and it was even better than we expected! Richie is great, and as a young owner, has redefined the B&B business with his charm, design style for the house, and AMAZING creative breakfast. We appreciated all the little details that most places would not take the time to do. We stayed in the Coniferous Suite and it was perfect, with a super comfortable bed, great Aveda products and beautifully decorated! The morning breakfast was delicious with a unique sweet “twist” on bacon, a delicious banana, bacon & chocolate chip “pancake”, etc. etc. We are planning our next stay there in a few months, and we HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place to others as well as a place most males would truly appreciate!!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Coniferous room which was the only room with a fireplace!
