If your ever in the Two Harbors area, you have to stop to see Pierre the Voyager and grab a burger (diffently the best one around) at the Earthwood Inn and Restaurant. If you need a place to stay for the night , they also have a rustic style motel that had a comfortable bed and was kept very clean. Pierre stands watch out front so you can't miss the place. Stop by, you will be glad you did.

If you are looking for a great burger, this is the restaurant to try while in Two Harbors. We came to this wonderful place by referral at another location in the city. While Earthwood Inn Motel is a lodging destination, they have a free standing restaurant (kind of like a sports bar) at their motel. The food was enjoyed by all four adults and the service was great. Prices were quite reasonable, plus the requests we had were met with a smile. It was better than bar pizza. Location is just South on the 61 Expressway (not more than one mile). Give it a try!

I think I have a new favorite place for fish & chips. The fish was moist and tender with just the right amount of breading. The fries were beer-battered and crispy. The house made tartar sauce was a delicious surprise, and they have floats with Dorothy Molter rootbeer! (If you know what that is then you know how awesome it is that they have it.)

The atmosphere is basic northwoods dive, but everything was clean and the food far exceeded expectations based on the look of the place. They have a large deck area that looks like it seats quite a few. We sat inside because a member of our party is very sun-sensitive, but could still appreciate the great view of Lake Superior from there.

As far as the service, I really can't judge since we were the only ones in there, but the two ladies who were working were very friendly. One of them brought out a sample of their bistro sauce to try and told us it was cod that we were eating because she refuses to change to pollock. The fish we had is the same they serve at their Friday fish fry, so I'm sure we'll be trying that at some point.

Being from northern MN myself, I thought the atmosphere was fine, but I can see how some might find it less than pleasant. However, this IS northern MN, so get over it.

Did I mention the fish & chips were only six bucks at lunch? We will definitely be back as they also have a hamburger and fries for four bucks at lunch. Definitely glad we stopped here instead of going down the road to Culver's.
