The snowshoe trails were great. They were marked well and had nice views to take in. The visitor center has a nice selection of things to purchase.

“Park Here to Start Bike Trail”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2013

I used the GB parking lot to start my round trip bike ride along the N.Shore path, north to Beaver Bay. Its a nice ride - some pretty decent hills. Watch the bridges, very sharp bumps will jar your road bike tires.
As far as the falls themselves, we've hiked Gooseberry many times. They're beautiful, and a nice stop - but nothing like what you see out west. If time is an issue, I'd choose Split Rock over Gooseberry.

“Nordic Adventure”

Enjoyed a great afternoon skiing. Easy and challenging trails. A bit disappointing about the lack of snow, however they managed to groom the trails as best as they could. Lots of fun.

“Spectacular Park for all seasons on Lake Superior”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2013

We visit Gooseberry all year round, most recently over Presidents Weekend 2013. Excellent cross country skiing, wonderfully groomed trails, and the Visitor Center is a beautiful place to sit and rest buy the roaring fire.

There is great hiking in all seasons; come prepared depending on the season and check out the many trails! Be sure to check out Lake Superior while you're there, whether you drive, hike, or ski down to the lake shore.

“Nice after a wet season”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2013

The Gooseberry Falls are not Niagara Falls, not in height, not in water amount. But they still are supposed to be spetacular after a snowy winter and rainy spring. I visited them in August, when hardly some water was falling. The Falls' trail is nice and accessible and gives picture opportunities. If you are in the area or come for several attractions, don't miss the place. But don't come especially during summer, before checking if there is plenty of water or not.
