Owner description: Shipwrecks from a mighty 1905 November gale prompted this rugged landmark's construction. Completed by the U.S. Lighthouse Service in 1910, Split Rock Light Station soon became one of Minnesota's best known landmarks. Restored to its 1920s appearance, the light station offers a glimpse of lighthouse life in this remote and spectacular setting. Split Rock Lighthouse is a National Historic Landmark.

It was nice, but not as interesting as I might have hoped. I think this spot may be a little over hyped.

Worth every penny. The living history actors have a lot of great information, as do the tour guides. Absolutely worth the trip and price of admission.

The Split Rock Light House was a great stop during our trip up the North Shore. The views are spectacular. The history of the light is very interesting. It is well worth the price of admission. The gift shop area is also very nice. The staff was very friendly.

Paid $9 each, which was okay. These places need to be kept up and staff paid. The lighthouse was very majestic and impressive, both from a distance on the road as well as close up. You can actually go up in to the lighthouse. There was also three houses at the light house for those who worked at the light house some years ago. One has been restored and was interesting to see. There was a woman in the kitchen making a real apple pie using a wood stove! Overall, seeing the lighthouse was well worth our time!

It's worth the $9 to go all the way to it and get the short 20 minute tour. Great information and stories! And they even have volunteers dressed up in old time clothes!
