We recently ate dinner here while visiting the area from Chicago. The food was very fresh and cooked perfectly. We both enjoyed an appetizer of the best crab cakes we have ever tasted. My husband had the Beef Wellington cooked to perfection. I loved the Mahi Mahi which was deliciously spiced with coconut curry sauce. The restaurant is small and intimate. The blue decor was fun and really added to our dining experience. The owner and hostess/server were both very friendly and attentive. The owner gave us each an additional glass of delicious wine on the house. Wish we lived closer as we would make this a regular dining spot!

We were headed home from the twin cities looking for an out-of-the-box spot for dinner and found Tangled Up in Blue right here on Trip Advisor. The salmon and the beef Wellington were fabulous and the "fruit" salad we started with was as good as I have tasted. We will drive back the hour or so from home to enjoy this gem again!

We tried this restaurant based on a recommendation from our innkeeper. We loved the eclectic vibe, but more importantly we loved the food. It wasn't just a meal...it was an culinary adventure and we look forward to returning again. Bon appetit!

We had high hopes for this place, it was our anniversary and the only other options in the area were fast food places. The fish was very good - we had pecan-crusted walleye, with caramelized shallots. But the fish - cooked to perfection - and the yummy shallots were the only things that seemed to support the $24 per entree price tag. The broccoli was steamed and plain, the sweet potatoes were simply mashed, and plain, and the caramelized carrots were undercooked (not al-dente, but actually hard). We requested a little bread while we waited, but - - no doing. Unless we bought a $9 appetizer. The decor was artsy (and blue); they have made a valiant attempt to create atmosphere out of an old, inelegant building, but it wasn't so upscale that it could justify the prices. Unfortunately for us, the kitchen vent wasn't working and the dining room was very smoky from the grill. Not their or our best night. More attention to the little things that make you feel like you are being pampered - like complementary bread with the entree - would have brought us back to try again.

Couldn't be happier with the dinner spot! Food was outstanding. Atmosphere was awesome. Service was fabulous. But wow was the food ever superb from beginning to end. We went to have a drink at Romayne's for a drink by the outdoor fire after dinner and met the guy who grows produce for the Tangled - local and fresh - you will not go wrong here!
