“Cute little winery”

Wild Mountain Winery
Reviewed August 17, 2013

We found this winery kind of by accident as we were driving to the Chateaux St.Croix winery. This winery has a scenic drive in through a wooded area. The tasting room is tiny so they had us sit outside and brought the wine to us to sample. They also gave us some Gouda cheese and crackers.
The wine tasting is $5.00/7 wines but as a couple you can choose to taste all the wines by having each person taste a different wine. (which we did) We weren't impressed with any of them except the port.

I think this winery has the potential to become a more fun one to visit. The grounds are not kept up very well where we sat. Some music on the little wooden platform would really add a lot.
We did venture into the vineyard which was one of the most well maintained one we have seen.

Wild Mountain Winery is a little out of the way but absolutely worth the trip. We had a wine tasting which included five different wines plus small bites to enhance the flavors of the tasting. Servers were absolutely charming and informative. Very pleasant way to spend an afternoon and highly recommended.

As noted by others the wine tasting with cheese and crackers included as well as the free glasses was a bargain . More impressive were the ladies we met while there that provided us the information about each wine , about the 3 families that connect for the wine making , etc. They allowed us to wander the vineyards , took photo's for us , and shared their tips for pruning the vines . We were impressed by their friendliness as well as numerous wines that we fell in love with .... The aurora dessert wine was AMAZING ! Thanks Wild Mt. Winery ... we will certainly be back ! B+ J

This winery is a modest, little and homely goodness of wines and fun. We were here on a beautiful Sunday. Andy gave a great tour of the Winery, answered pretty much all of our questions. His passion and pride about the wines they make in there will win your hearts.
They have a great selection of wines and they do an amazing job of Wine tasting just for $5 which includes cheese, crackers and a souvenir glass.

In short, highly recommended place if you like Wines and even if you dont like them much, go here, you will get hooked :)

We were out for a Saturday drive and came across this small winery just north of the Wild Mountain Ski area. As self proclaimed "wine snobs" with collections of California, French and Argentine wines in the cellar, we had said we would not buy any wind made in Minnesota! After tasting and visiting with two of the owners of the fine new establishment, we walked away with both good memories and some wine! These owners are very passionate about their product and knowledgable about the product and the process. You won't recognize any of the grapes that they grow that survive the terrible cold in Minnesota, however, you will recognize some of the tastes that you will experience in their wines, We tasted 6 wines for five dollars which was accompanied by cheese and small crackers. They also poured a very nice port and accompanied that with a rich, dark chocolate. They pose no threat to the big wineries in CA or France, but they do make a nice product they are proud of and you will not go wrong spending an hour or so tasting their babies.
