My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Aurora Staples in. We stayed in the carriage house, and had an amazing breakfast in the morning. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. We will definitely stay again!

My wife and I stayed in the Carriage house and we loved it. This room is separate from the rest of the house which gives you extra privacy and quietness. Everything in the room was in good condition, we especially loved the fireplace next to the large whirlpool. Breakfast tasted great and was very filling. Coffee and tea was delivered 8am on the dot and the coffee actually tasted like good coffee. Cathy did a good job making us feel comfortable and was very helpful. Also the Inn is located far enough from the downtown Stillwater so it's quiet yet close enough that you can walk there in 5 min!

We spent a night in the Riverview Suite. Stillwater is a charming town with lots of great restaurants and shops. We spent the day in town until we could check in at 4:00. Upon arrival, we were served a glass of wine and a light snack of grapes, crackers, cheese and olives, which was delivered to our room while we brought in our bags. The owner, Kathy, gave us a brief tour of the house and left us on our own. The suite was nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable. There was an enclosed porch with a swing and other seating that was very nice. The room had a small fireplace that kept us cozy. There was not a TV in the room, which was different for us. The only thing I really didn't care for was that the bathroom door was a curtain. There was also a 2 person whirlpool and a stand-up shower in the bathroom. A small refrigerator with complimentary pop and water was located out in the common area - very nice touch! The breakfast was very nice...fruit & cream served first, then stuffed French toast with a sausage link, and last was a blackberry cobbler with French vanilla ice cream. Kathy stayed and talked with us and the other guests and was happy to answer any questions that people had. I would recommend this B&B to anyone who is open to the experience...realizing that not all people are.

Found this B&B on the internet. The house was beautifully decorated for the holidays. You can tell that the inn keepers take great pride and care in the property. The porch was even perfectly clean in the middle of winter! We stayed in the St. Croix Suite, although all the rooms were lovely - you'd be satisfied with any of them. There is a sitting area in front of the fireplace, whirlpool and basic bathroom but there is no shower.

We were greeted with wine, crackers, cheese and grapes, which was a memorable touch. You could tell the grapes had not washed before serving. ;) We ate dinner in town and then relaxed in our suite.

Breakfast was in the dining room. The inn keeper was friendly and made conversation but not overbearing. Although it was a "3-course" breakfast, it was not as full as I imagined a 3-course meal to be and was pretty sweet. We really liked the grapefruit (1st course), which was served in a unique way - it was sweetened and broiled, so it was warm. The french toast puff and one sausage link (2nd course) was a bit disappointing as we tend to enjoy more hearty meals. And a tiny scoop of dulce de leche (caramel) ice cream was served last (3rd course). Coffee and juice were also served with the meal.

Stillwater is the perfect overnight escape from city life. I'd recommend staying here.

When my fiance said he had found the perfect and peaceful place for our honeymoon get away, I admit I felt a bit of skepticism. But he was right!

We enjoyed the luxury of the beautiful Victorian carriage house at a bargain cost, but also so many extra touches to make this a delightful five day stay. For examples, the three-course breakfasts were delicious and filling, and the company who assembled to share them proved fascinating people. Afternoon hoers d'oeuvres were also a treat in front of the cozy fireplace in the library, amid resplendent Christmas decorations. If we wanted to forgo the rich breakfast, steaming hot coffee and tea with heart-shaped muffins arrived at our door. When we arrived we found two framed photos of us as a couple, showing that the proprietors celebrated this occasion with us. Kathy and Jerry Helmberger have hearts of hospitality and service, and provided an extraordinary amount of attention to detail display of love for their guests.

We just got back from a short stay at the Aurora Staples B&B in Stillwater. We had a last minute booking on a Sunday night and found everything to be wonderful.

We stayed in the Riverview Room, which turned out to be perfect for us. The room has a small porch with a swing love seat that looks out towards the river and over the garden. Not much of a view of the river, but it overlooks that garden which was beautiful nonetheless.

The rooms were all beautifully decorated and clean. The room was comfortably cool for a warm summer's eve.

We were the only guests in the main house for the night so our host offered to let us take our pick of the rooms. Cathy was a nice host. She chatted with us briefly on our arrival then let us enjoy our private retreat. We were severed a nice check-in snack. A pre-breakfast juice and tea was dropped off precisely when expected. The 3-course breakfast was nice.

Overall, we had a great stay at Aurora Staples and have already recommended it to friends and family.

We just returned from a weekend at the Aurora Staples Inn and had a fantastic time as always. We have stayed at several different places in the area and now only stay at the Aurora Staples Inn. It truly is our "Home away from home".

The home is beautiful and exceptionally clean. The owners (Cathy & Jerry) are the nicest people you will ever meet and how much they love what they do is evident. The flower garden in the back yard is beautiful and is the perfect place for a summer wedding. Cathy & Jerry take a lot of pride in their yard and flowers and spend countless hours working on them.

Coffee, Tea, juice etc... is brought to your room in the morning if you like and you can sit in front of your fireplace or out on the porch and watch the birds, read or just relax. A three course breakfast is served and has been delicious every time. Cathy will tell you the history of the house during breakfast if you like also.

What I love most about the Aurora Staples is that it is a comfortable place to be. You are made to feel welcome and not like your are staying in a strangers house. The house is not full of clutter and the rooms are beautiful. Cathy and Jerry are there if you need them for anything, but at the same time, give you your privacy and space if wanted.

I would definately recommend the Aurora Staples for any occasion big or small. It is a wonderful place full of charm and great memories.
