This was a very cute & homey restaurant, with a log cabin decor. The service was excellent & attentive. The prices were a little high for the value tho. My liver & onion entree was wonderful, but my partners grilled pork chop was tough & flavorless. I've heard that you sometimes can expect a long wait for a table, and they don't take reservations. We went during the state fair, so got a table quickly.

We recently ate at this restaurant and, while the steaks were wonderful and so flavorful, we waited 45 minutes for a table (probably not unusal for a Friday night at this place) plus it was so noisy that we couldn't hear each other across the table. Low ceilings, lots of noise. The tables are so close together that I had to keep my elbows in or the server would have brushed up against me. Yes, it's a quaint little hideaway but they've outgrown their space. I couldn't figure out why they don't serve outdoors on their large deck adjacent to the building in the summer. Everyone waiting for a table was seated out there so why not put up some umbrella tables, hire another server, put in a new doorway, and serve those folks outside on a beautiful Minnesota evening?

Tara is a hidden treasure! Tucked away on the frontage rd.off hwy 36. The food is always wonderful and flavorful. The staff is very attentive and pleasant. The atmosphere is warm and homey with a cabin flavor. Try it if your in Stillwater!
