I had read great reviews of this restaurant online and decided to meet two friends for dinner there last week. It's a cute place and wasn't too busy so we had a few tables to choose from. I liked the atmosphere and so did my friends.
Our server was attentive but seemed a bit awkward. He told us that one server had called in sick and so he was stretched a bit thin but would do his best. Fine. We placed our order for wine which we received right away and it was delicious. Then we placed our food order, entrees along with one appetizer. He didn't write our order down and made the joke of having to remember it for 25 paces before he got to the kitchen. We thought he was joking. Wrong. We never did receive our appetizer and when our entrees arrived, he'd gotten mine wrong. So, my two friends ate their dinners while I watched and waited for mine to arrive. Not such a good beginning.
When I finally got my order about ten minutes later, it was delicious and both my friends loved their meals as well. Our waiter apologized profusely for the mix up and offered to comp us our wine, which seemed fair to us. We even ended up ordering the dessert, an apple cobbler with ice cream, which was quite good.
At the end of our meal another person brought us our check and we found that the wine was still on the bill. After we brought it to our server's attention, he removed the wine charges and we were satisfied.
I've only been to Reve 324 once so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and try them again because the food was just that good.
