This was our first B&B experience and first visit to Stillwater and both were amazing! The Rivertown Inn is beautifully decorated and the staff and chef were wonderful. The rooms were very romantic and the food was absolutely delicious. Will definitely visit again!

We stayed in the Oscar Wilde suite. The room was wonderful but it is at the top of the stairs and is beautifully decorated in the victorian style. The tub is a little tricky to get in and out of and the room needs brighter lights near the reading chairs. The bed is an unusual shape and very soft. The light above the bed is beautiful but you need to watch your head. The main house and grounds are glamorous. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The wine and cheese hour was delicious. The breakfast was tasty but need to be served at a warmer temperature. We would definitely return.

My husband and I stayed here for a little get-away to celebrate our anniversary. It was beautifully decorated, the service was wonderful and the breakfast was delicious. We have stayed in at least 4 B & B's in Stillwater but I think this is the clear winner.
The chef packed us a lovely picnic that we took down to the waterfront. I highly recommend this. It was a little chilly but a great thing to do on a beautiful fall day. We enjoyed some hot chocolate on the balcony upon our return. We are already talking about our return.

My wife and I have been to over a dozen B&B's in the midwest. Nothing tops the Rivertown. To go to Stillwater and stay anywhere else seems like it would have made the trip less memorable.

Everything was perfect. The room, the decor, the food, the service... Everything! Particular points of interest: The breakfast is an experience, first class chef using fresh, local ingredients. The room was perfect, stayed in the Oscar Wilde Suite (the most romantic bathroom we have seen). The decor was breath-taking (you have to see it to understand). The service was first-class, friendly, accomodating, knowledgable.

For what you get, the prices are quite reasonable.

It is located at the top of a hill, so when you stuff yourself at every meal you can get some great exercise.

Again, my wife and I have stayed at over a dozen B&B's, none that we have been disappointed with. Nothing compares to The Rivertown.

Everything was perfect!

I've stayed at many B&B's over the years but none comes close to the Rivertown Inn, in quaint little Stillwater, MN. It is a beautifully restored turn-of-the century Victorian home with the rooms themed for famous authors, e.g. Oscar Wilde, Agatha Christie, etc. But I would expect this kind of outstanding renovation in an upper level B&B. What took this one far above any other's I've experienced is the incredible ambience and the warm, fuzzy feeling you get staying there.

I stayed there for two nights with my fiancee for our "pre-wedding retreat"....one last chance to get away before the craziness of the wedding, and one last chance for her to say "what the hell am I doing" and bolt for the door. The Rivertown Inn made this precious weekend so much more than we'd ever hoped.

From the wine, cheese and hors d'oeuvres served during the social hour, to the unbelievable 5 course breakfasts, this B&B is absolutely best of class. We met other couples who celebrating their 1st, and 5th anniversaries and have come back many times.

Couple with the dining and recreation experiences of Stillwater, I would recommend this B&B to anyone looking for an extraordinary experience.

Everything about the Rivertown Inn was fantastic! We stayed in the Jane Austen room - the room itself was not huge, but it was more than enough for a romantic getaway. Very comfortable (and large) bed. Huge whirlpool. Plenty of space to unpack, so you can walk around comfortably and enjoy the room. Dimmed lighting, Bose radio and fireplace were a nice touch. The amenities never end ... chilled pop/water, fresh baked cookies, wine glasses for your personal use, pre-packaged ice bags and buckets, wine on the "honor system," complimentary wine and cheese spread in the evening, full service gourmet breakfast on the patio ... on the list goes on. Could stay here forever! Will certainly return!
