There's not much in the way of quality fare in the St Helen's area, unless you go very upmarket. Couldn't find much more than stodge and fat for brekky (not the gourmet breakfast we were originally fantasising about), so ended up driving to Binalong Bay and having lunch instead. Absolutely the right choice!
This place has amazing views and we were lucky enough to get a table on the balcony. The day was brisk and clear, so we were happy we had brought a jacket.
We had vege soup first, then a hotpot of trevalla and chorizo. Very Mediterranean and yummy both of them. Accompanied by sort of fried ciabbata, so I was compelled to break the diet I've been on for what seems a lifetime.
Short simple wine list and being after 12 by then, a glass of lovely local pinot was unavoidable.
As with lots of the cafes around this area, all the cakes were home baked and I settled for the obligatory moist scones and jam and cream.
