“Excellent value for money!”
Reviewed March 30, 2013

My wife and I stayed here for the last leg of our Honeymoon, it was superb:

* Very well maintained
* Everything is extremely clean
* Great views from our room (211), watching the sunrise over the lake
* The poolside service was great
* Prices for room/food/drinks was amazing we thought we should've been paying more!

There was just a couple of things that were not very good (in our opinion)

* The only person who spoke English well was the manager, when he was not there trying to organize transport was an effort as most don't speak English at all while some have some basic understanding.

* The pillows in the room where a bit too thick for us gave us sore necks and interrupted sleep.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mae Jo Golf Club and Resort and would recommend it to anyone

Our first stay back at the resort for 4 years & it's still superb. Rooms are comfortable & generous in size with a good range of amenities. Lovely gardens & such a great saltwater pool.
We cycled around on the cart paths in the early evening, the bikes do need a bit of maintenance though...please!
Even though the course was busy, the starters as ever got us off promptly & efficiently. Newly laid greens are now beginning to settle down.
Breakfast is ok, maybe the weakest aspect of the resort though is the undercooked bacon.

My family and I just returned home from a 3 day 2 night stay at this resort. We had a wonderful experience we at this hotel. Specifically, the staff went above and beyond in order to provide us everything we needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay. I left my contact solution behind, and Khun Jiraluk and Khun Janjeera at the front desk went out of their way to get some solution so that I wouldn't have to travel back into town in order to buy a new bottle. That kind of service is hard to find these days, and I appreciated it so much!

Other things we greatly enjoyed about our stay:
The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Also, very important to us is that our kids actually felt welcome. Some hotels don't cater to kids but the staff was very kind to our kids and never made us feel awkward or that they were a bother.

The leisure facilities were amazing! We enjoyed the kayaks, ping pong, the lovely pool, and the fitness room. A big highlight, however, was being able to take the bikes out around the course after 5 pm. A stunning ride at sunset.

We aren't really golfers so didn't actually play - can't comment on that.

The food staff were very kind and gracious. The food was reasonably priced. Nice that they delivered to the room for no extra charge.

Being somewhat out of the way was no problem for us as we were looking for a getaway from the city anyway.

I joined a group of golfers and non-golfers for a long weekend stay at the resort in February 2012. I think the country-style setting with a large lake set inside the complex is excellent and the facilities of a very high standard although the food is fairly average if one sticks to the Thai menu. The staff are very attentive and efficient and the rooms are a high 4-star level, very clean and well fitted out. The beautiful pool and spa are surrounded by neat and well maintained gardens, the bar is close by and it’s a short walk to the first tee. My golfing colleagues enjoyed their 2-3 rounds and considered the course to be reasonably challenging, well maintained and the caddies of good value however this year the severe haze and pollution from regional crop and forest burn-off was quite debilitating for many who suffered from eye infections for some weeks afterwards – the burning off is an annual occurrence unfortunately and this year was more severe than normal but should be factored in against the other advantages of the Resort. The Resort offers a PAYG airport pick-up and delivery but is at least 35-40 minutes from the City and a one-way city taxi will be about Baht 500.

Room Tip: Ground floor with lake outlook was excellent.

Everytime I play here I enjoyed it, golf management really takes care of his players, caddies are well trained and reliable. Club house has a very good restaurant, one of the best in Thailand. If you can avoid the week end, a bit croudy like every where else in Thailand, do it.
Management improved recently the club house.

Played here Friday 10 Feb 2012. Got to the 4th hole to find 14 buggies waiting. 45 minutes later we could continue to play what turned into a 6 hour round. Quite clearly the club had accepted overbookings and ruined everybody's day. That aside the greens are appalling. We met many other golfers on other courses who also said they would never play Mae Jo again because of the greens. They are inconsistent between holes but most are like concrete so a good shot in just bounces through. They are supposed to be working on them this year but I fear they will not do a proper job. They need digging to quite a depth and comnpletely relaying. And because the caddies see so many triple bogeys and worse they lose interest in the games and care less about reading the putting lines. Shame because it could be a very good course if properly managed.

Just came back from 5 nights at he Mae Jo with a mixed group of 14 golfers and non golfers. Golf course accommodation in Thailand tends to be very basic and tired but the resort at Mae Jo is probably the best quality we have stayed at - rooms are new, clean and tastefully decorated and would not be out of place in a good quality hotel. The facilities are excellent and sufficient to keep non golfers happy with a great pool, spa, lawn tennis courts, free bike and canoe hire, table tennis, pool table etc. The golf course itself is beautifully maintained and is a very inter sting risk & reward design that is a challenge for all levels - we played 6 rounds over the five days and never got bored. The only down sides (as with most golf resorts) is that the food is adequate rather than spectacular (the Thai and Japanese better than the odd western dish) and also the resort is some way out of the main town...don't believe the quoted 20 minutes, it's more like 30-40 minutes but the resort does have a efficient bus service (for a charge).
Overall we had a great stay, very relaxing with some excellent golf and will definitely be back again.
