We enjoyed our small room and the FULL moon on the beautiful Lake Superior beach! The Inn is right next to Tettegouche State Park which was a great place to hike. The hosts were very nice and helpful.

My wife & I spent 4 days here in mid-May. The owners are super people, very gracious and helpful. Accommodations were excellent and the breakfast was solid. For anyone wanting to explore Minnesota's North Shore, Silver Bay is the ideal place to stay and Inn at Palisade is the best lodging choice in the area. I highly recommend.

Our room was darling. The lakeshore down some steps is private and relaxing with a gorgeous view. The hostess was warm, helpful and friendly. A top notch continental breakfast was served. Recommend this place highly.

Room Tip: All rooms face the lake, some with better view than others due to trees in the way. Inn is up on a...

We found the Inn to be extremely comfortable, delightful and much like the other reviews. Our hosts saw to it that all our needs were met and encouraged us to ask if anything was needed. Jeff did loaned me a screw driver and socket set to make a minor bike rack repair when I asked. We stayed in the suite that was locate below the common room. Access is through a breeze way and down a gentle slope alongside the Inn. Our room overlooked a small grassy area with a fire pit. Lake Superior could be seen through the trees. Steps led down to a private cobble beach where another fire pit was located, firewood and marshmallows provided. The kitchenette consisted of a small stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffee maker and was minimally stocked with pots/pans and kitchenware. Jeff reminded us to ask if we needed anything that was not stocked. The family area was extremely homey and the kids did not complain about having to sleep on the sofa sleeper. The fireplace was stocked with firewood and a lighter. The property is well maintained. Our room was clean and extremely comfortable. We stayed during the middle of the week and pretty much had the Inn all to ourselves. Wifi and cable television with more than the standard package was available. The kids greatly enjoyed playing amongst the rocks on the state park side, splashing in the cold water and roasting marshmallows on a campfire. We could hear some highway truck noise from the beach but never in the room. Occasionally, we did hear the floor creak above us but in general we found the Inn and its location to be quiet. We definitely will come back!

Room Tip: Those with mobility problems may want to stay in one of the upper rooms.

The Inn is set up like a B&B; the owner's live on premise, the large common room includes a living room, t.v., board games, refrigerator, and tables and chairs for a delicious breakfast included in the price of the lodging. The four rooms are laid out like a motel and each overlook the lake with a window seat and a beach guests can use for a campfire; firewood is provided. (You have to walk down steps to get to the beach below). If you aren't familiar with the area, the beach is not sandy but lots of small round stones. One can hear the lake from their room (nice). The two rooms rented were very clean, one room w/ two twin beds, the other a king sized bed. BR had shower stalls. No hair dryer (probably on premises but we didn't ask), nice soap and thick towels, bring your own robe, also t.v. and chair(s) are in each room. Movies are available. We would recommend. Helpful, friendly owners; chosen for an in-between spot to the beautiful sights of the area.

Just stayed at this gem over the weekend of January 28th. First thing we noticed was the welcome. Provided information right away on everything from beverage locations to flash lights for the beach to games and dvd locations. Shown to our room and they made sure we knew how to operate the television and that we had everything needed.

Rooms are not large but very comfortable. The view of the lake is awesome. Beds were comfortable and the room was very clean.

Breakfast in the morning was nice and served in the community room. It was like having breakfast in your own living room. Cozy and inviting. Can't wait to return.

We stayed here the nights of October 5, 6, & 7, 2011 with the purpose of enjoying the beauty of the North Shore for a few days. The B&B immediately overlooks Lake Superior. The property's shoreline consists of a sandy beach bordered on each side by typical large Lake Superior Rocks. Both Shovel Point and Palisade Head are easy to see from the property. The property is about halfway between the two. It's a very beautiful shoreline here. We had modest room with a very comfortable king bed. A bay window overlooked the lake. Breakfast was help yourself to fresh fruit, scones, bagels, yogurt, cereal, packaged oatmeal. One of the three mornings, Jeff prepared a basic egg and sausage breakfast. I guess it was just the time of year, but our room had a very large number of flies while we were there, mainly during the daytime. I killed about 200 during our three days. We were unable to determine where they were coming in. I asked Jeff and was advised they did not know either. The next day they left a fly swatter for me in the room. It was a minor nuisance unless this might really "bug" you. We weren't that bothered. The sounds of the lake's waves were ever present during our visit, which made for good sleeping.

Thank you for your comments. The flies you refer to are called cluster flies and are common during this time of year. They seem to come and go over the years and this past year we seem to have been one of their favorite destinations. The tricky little guys seem to be able to wedge into the smallest cracks and then into the rooms. After much research we have a plan and I'm pretty certain we won't see them next year.
