Great lodging, quiet and blessedly full-dark nights, pleasant atmosphere and hospitality.
Best mid-northshore site for leaf tours in October;
ideal location for ski access to Flathorn-Gegoka NF ski areas in winter.
Excellent Superior Hiking Trail access to some of the best parts of the trail -- Manitou and horseshoe ridge area, Caribou River and points north. Both challenging and also easy-walking parts of the SH trail within a short commute.

We are not normally B&B fans; however, Baptism River Inn has changed my opinion. This was a wonderful stay and we will definitely be back. It's quality lodging with great beds (we had the KING Room; which is a hard find on the North Shore), excellent linens, soothing decor, private bathroom, comfortable in room seating, nice breakfast and a lot of recommendations for places to hike by our Host Lura. Then to top that off there is the tranquility of their setting on the Baptism River... so peaceful & serene. Very relaxing to hear the sounds of River as you relax in your room. For dinner we visited the Lemon Wolf - wonderful food and service; the second night we tried Camp 61 and we were delighted with the service and sandwich.

What a wonderful place to spend our 40th Anniversary!!! Even though the weekend weather did not cooperate the accommodations made up for amazing atmosphere. The breakfast was outstanding. We loved the design of this beautiful. log cabin bed and breakfast. This B & B runs next to the beautiful Baptism River and if the weather would have cooperated there were many trails to be hiked. The location is near Lake Superior and Lutsen Minnesota. Many outstanding sites near this location. We would highly recommend this place.

Room Tip: We loved our room, The Evergreen, since we were served breakfast in our room. We loved how the room...

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at the Baptism River Inn. We decided to treat ourselves to the Evergreen Suite and we were not disappointed. We were looking for something quiet and peaceful and kind of away from it all, and this was just what we were looking for. The Suite was charming and comfortable, and even though it wasn't very warm the weekend we stayed, we kept our windows open slightly at night so we could hear the river flowing down stream. Also, the breakfasts were wonderful, and if you wanted a sweet snack, Lura had homemade cookies downstairs, just waiting for you. I highly recommend staying here, and will definitely be back.

My wife and I have stayed at the Baptism River B&B eight times. I can't give any higher review than that. The area is quiet. The night sky is brilliant with stars. The rooms are very confortable. The balconies are a great place to read. The sauna is relaxing. Breakfasts are always delicious and it is fun to talk with fellow guests. The location is a perfect base for day trips in every direction.

Quiet, peaceful inn on the river. Great place to relax and get away from it all. Excellent breakfast and table talk with the other guests and Lura. Close to all the waterfalls and lake shore. Loved the big jetted spa tube. Just the ticket for relaxing after a long hike.

I never make a reservation anywhere without reading the reviews. When you look at the many reviews for Baptism River Inn or if you stay there and read comments left by visitors, you know that this place is everything you want in a B and B. It's got it all: location, friendliness, food, incredible rooms, nearby restaurants and sight seeing, etc. Plus the Inn Keepers are as accommodating as it gets. This is the only place I think of when I plan a trip to the North Shore of beautiful Minnesota.

Room Tip: Thought all the rooms are wonderful, spend the extra money and stay in the Suite. Talk about luxury...
