This was our 3rd time staying at the cabin, known as The Eleanor. It's the only cabin on the beautiful property. The cabin was very clean and well decorated. We enjoyed grilling on the charcoal grill and cooking in the fully furnished kitchen. Everyday we explored the trails thru the woods. Can't wait to visit again next winter!

My husband and I stayed in Eleanor four nights in April 2015. The cabin is so perfect, warm, inviting, well-appointed. Everything we needed was there, including linens. The gas fireplace was so nice! We enjoyed driving our golf cart on all the trails, walking in the woods and canoeing. Annie was so kind and accommodating. This was the most relaxing vacation ever!

We had our wedding at the Black Lantern last June. It was absolutely amazing. The venue is so beautiful. The owner was extremely helpful and made our weekend event even memorable. Great place to have an outdoor wedding.

Our family of four stayed in the “Eleanor” cabin for a week. The Eleanor is a charming cabin in a rustic setting. The porch overlooks a wetland area and there is a lovely protected fire pit out the front door. The staff here prides themselves on providing everything you will need. The there is charcoal and lighter fluid so you can use the barbecue etc… Anyone who stays in rental cabins knows these extras can really make the trip more pleasant. Check out the website for all of the other nice touches that make this stay extra special.

The Eleanor is a small cabin with luxury touches. Our children are both pre-teens and were able to sleep on the pull-out couch. During the day we spent very little time in the cabin - there is plenty to do at the resort if you enjoy outdoor activities. There was enough room for 4 people at meal time etc… Our family of four fit just fine. It did strike me that the Eleanor is a perfect couples retreat!

The resort is close enough to Bemidji to enjoy all that Bemidji has to offer – yet is far enough away that you definitely will get the feeling you have escaped. It is also a short trip to Itasca State Park.

We will definitely go back to the Black Lantern! It is set up so you will always get the sense that you have escaped to the wilderness, but staying in the Eleanor you can still enjoy a shower in the custom designed shower room. If you do really want a more rustic experience tent sites are available.
