Yes, the admission price is high, but it is in line with other amusement parks. Parking, entering, leaving and re-entering the park was easy despite the airport-like security check points. The lines went quickly and they had plenty of staff working the entrance to keep things moving along. The lines for rides moved along quickly, too - even the water rides! Half of our family opted for the "Fast Break" passes allowing them to cut lines legitimately, and the other half went with the standard admission. Often the lines were short enough that the fast break wasn't a huge time saver (but I think they found it kind of fun to play VIP for the day). The pricing online is a little confusing for this, as we thought the "Fast break" price (being higher than general admission) WAS the admission, but you still have to buy a regular admission AND the fast break ticket. Food and beverage prices are insane, but leaving and re-entering after dining offsite is the way to go. We had a wide range of ages with us, and everyone found areas of the park they thoroughly enjoyed! We would go again - it was a lot of fun!
We did NOT opt for the dinosaurs alive exhibit. That seems to be everywhere anymore. The Minnesota Zoo also has a dinosaurs alive exhibit for additional admission fees, too. These animatronics aren't worth it. Plus, at Valley Fair they have a few scattered throughout the park that you can see for free.
