The menu is not extensive but the items we had were absolutely delicous and a good value. We went for lunch, so these comments applyto that menu only.

Things to love: love the owner and much of the staff, the bar, the drinks (Golden Eye martini is wonderful, as are house made vodka shots, beer and wine selection, and so on). The food is always top notch and fresh. Faves: pelmeni, givetch, beef stroganoff, any of the fish main dishes, herring appetizer, matzo ball soup, borscht. The only thing I kind of avoid is the appetizer sampler because it feels a little skimpy and unvaried for what you pay. Desserts are excellent as well. Best time to go is if course in the middle of winter so you can feel sort of transported to a Russian city, but the restaurant does have a nie patio out back in summer, too!

We popped into this place after the Coldplay concert in St. Paul just in time to get a bite to eat on their late night menu. It is very red and romantic inside and there is a large lit patio in the back. We ordered a basic flight of vodka shots which were great and a cavier belini or crepe and something fried. Very filling. I can't wait to go back sometime for a romantic dinner.

we came in with a group and were treated poorly by the management. She said "we have to defer to customers with a reservation" we said "we DO have a reservation.

I took my parents and boyfriend here while we were all in town for a wedding over the weekend. It was a nice atmosphere to enjoy each other's company with no pressure to clear out as soon as our meal finished. The shared experience of trying new food was a nice ice breaker, the dumplings were everyone's favorite. The drinks were delicious, including the in-house cherry vodka and the authentic Moscow Mule. Will definitely go back!
