Awesome food, great atomosphere - reminded me of a coffee house in Europe - wish I could have sampled more from the bake case!

This is a beautiful cafe in a nice district in St. Paul. Their pasteries, croissants, fabulous fudge bars, and cookies are wonderful. This is not, however, the best place in town to get a sandwhich or coffee. Plan an afternoon and try out other St. Paul eateries as well.

Well, it looked interesting - but, then we found that it seemed to be part of a larger conglomerate on Grand Avenue. They were using the cups and etc from another place across the street and it seemed attached to a larger buffet sort of place around the corner in the same building. Anyway.... the coffee shop part was pretty standard. A few baked goods - looked interesting, but pastries aren't really our thing. We went for the breakfast sandwiches. They were - well, bland on a good day. Reasonable bread, processed cheese (I mean really processed), pre-fab egg-like substance all covered in (at least fresh) spinach leaves and then heated and pressed into a pannini. Very middle america... very bland.... Average is all they get... and, bland. Add to that a poor tea selection (for those of us who don't ingest coffee) and it was a bit of a frustrating morning. I hate to disagree with so many locals who've posted reviews, but ... average.

If you want a yummy potato, cheese, egg and ham sandwich for breakfast - this is the place. Casual atmosphere. Yummy pastries, coffee choices, sandwiches at lunch and inside and outside seating. Lots to choose from.

I have been coming to B&C for years and I have never been disappointed. From meals with my kids, friends to casual work meetings - this is a place to go.

It closes early - so check the hours before heading over in the afternoon. But there is always Cafe Latte (sister restaurant) across the street which is FABULOUS for Lunch, Dinner, Wine and a yummy late night unbelievable piece of cake.
