There were 4 of us for a special occasion - Christmas Party Lunch. Even though I had made a request for a nice table when I called for the reservation, and again when we arrived, the host did not deliver. It was not busy so there were plenty of tables, but we were told there was a private party. Still....I was able to see they had many rooms that only had one table being used. We were seated at the first table, just inside the first room... Hmmmm. We were not to be disallusioned however!
The decor was beautiful. A wonderful old building with so much character! We started with cocktails. One of us had the Bloody Mary. It was excellent, but I would recommend the Minnesota 374, a mixture of gin, lemon, sparkling soda and topped with champagne. Very refreshing. On to lunch. We had the White fish - just okay. Cuban Panini - better. Udon Noodle Bowl - very good. Autumn Salad - my favorite: a mixture of greens with apple, cranberry nut granola, bleu cheese with an apple vinagarette dressing. The menu was abbrevated from the one that we had perused on line. So that was disappointing. Service was fine. Dessert Trio was excellent. Carrot Cake - good, Creme Brulee-very good, Kit Kat with Chai Ice Cream - the best!. Prices were what would be expected for a nice occasion. Overall - a good experience...but could have been better.
